Airrobo’s new robot vacuum cleaners empty their own dust containers

Airrobo claims to have redefined SLAM algorithms and AI technology application in household cleaning, bringing a futuristic lifestyle closer to everyone.

The first product is the Airrobo Robot Vacuum T10+, which is an intelligent and multifunctional flagship model in T-Series. It provides users with 45-day hands-free cleaning experience and allergy-friendly environment when it comes to cleaning. In contrast to the daily garbage tossing which is time-consuming and a potential air pollution source, the Airrobo Robot Vacuum T10+ comes equipped with automatic dirt disposal charging base, which empties the robot’s dustbin at 26KPa high suction level with over 98% efficiency.

After it cleans, the 3.3L allergy-friendly disposable dust bag in the base stores dirt and dust for up to 45 days, which saves time and energy for those who are busy living or enjoying life every single day. In addition to the hands-free feature, it also provides all-in-one cleaning solution, T10+ is able to switch between vacuuming mode and mopping mode seamlessly and intelligently, being more cost-effective and more efficient for the consumer’s needs.

The second product is the Airrobo Robot Vacuum T9, which, says the manufacturer, is a “reliable and powerful” robot vacuum cleaner designed for
expert navigation and strong cleaning effect. Airrobo features their slogan “Free as a breeze”, symbolising the freedom like a breeze and the household chores can be done with ease. In this regard, the Airrobo Robot Vacuum T9 comes equipped with a leading LiDAR technology and strong suction power.

It navigates itself to corners and edges with ease, and avoids large pieces of furniture while cleaning thoroughly from dust to large debris hiding in tile gaps, under furniture, and on carpets at 2700Pa.

USLAM Air 5.0, derived from UBtech Robotics, is the algorithm that empowers T10+ and T9 to spot and avoid objects while setting up map and cleaning route in its path simultaneously, which makes the robot manoeuvre and respond like a human. In practical applications, USLAM Air 5.0 enables high quality mapping in large and small home scenarios, multi-sensor millimetre-level high-precision positioning, dynamic path planning and all-round autonomous obstacle avoidance.

“At UBtech Robotics, We’ve witnessed the success of humanoid robots, industrial robots, and educational robots in the market. How the core technology of robotic products applies to usage scenarios with high frequency, high demand and difficult pain points is the background story which has inspired Airrobo’s establishment. By combining integrated supply chain with e-commerce business model, we aim to break the solid polarisation in robot vacuum cleaner industry, introducing smart home appliances into every household with reasonable price and better user experience.” said Tommy Zhang, general manager of Airrobo.

Employees at Glen Dimplex to go on three-day strike demanding better pay

Glen Dimplex UK Ltd in Portadown has been served with notice of strike action after 96 percent of workforce voted for action in a strike ballot over Living Wage concerns.
Glen Dimplex UK Ltd in Portadown has been served with notice of strike action after 96 percent of workforce voted for action in a strike ballot over Living Wage concerns.

The first three-day strike action is due to commence with workforce pickets forming at 6am Wednesday, November 10 until Friday, November 12 at 3pm.

Unite the union has warned of the likelihood that initial strike action will escalate to all out strike if management do not provide a Living Wage to its workforce.

It’s now more than seven months since workers submitted their Living Wage pay claim and after much delay the latest offer is for a below-inflation 3.25 percent increase this year with a 4 percent increase the next.

Unite say this below-inflation pay offer means workers will actually suffer a further, real-terms pay cut. It falls far short of the 11 percent workforce pay claim.

Glen Dimplex is a hugely successful company, commanding more than 70 percent of the home heating market in the UK.

The company is ramping up investment and introducing new lines to take advantage of the surge in demand for its highly energy efficient products.

Currys confident in supply chain

Currys, Britain’s biggest electricals retailer, is well stocked despite supply chain disruption and confident it will enjoy a strong Black Friday and Christmas trading period, its boss said on Thursday.

British retailers are grappling with delays in their international supply chains that are being compounded by labour shortages in the UK transport and warehousing networks.

Alex Baldock, CEO of Currys, which was previously called Dixons Carphone, said the firm had worked hard to mitigate the risks and as UK market leader had an advantage with suppliers, such as Samsung Electronics, Hewlett Packard and Arcelik, in having first call on scarce stock.

“It’s been incredibly hard work but we’re in quite good shape. We’ve got more stock in the business now than we had last year and we’re confident that we’re going to have a strong peak trading period,” he told reporters at Currys’ Staples Corner store in north west London, where he hosted a Capital Markets Day.

“Are we going to have every item in every sub-category that we would ideally like in every store, probably not,” he said.

Midea, the first appliance manufacturer to obtain the new energy label A and sound level A

Midea , the world’s No. 1 selling manufacturer of air handling appliances *, has become the first Chinese brand to obtain the double A certification of energy label A and sound level A , of the new design standard eco-energy of the European Union.

The new regulation, which came into force on April 1 of this year, affects certain categories of household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines or dishwashers, and differs from the previous standard by changing their labels.

The new energy labeling has gone from being from A to A +++, to being from G to A. Consequently, the class A +++ up to now would be equivalent to the current C or lower, so the new standard seeks to give a margin of improves appliance manufacturers by encouraging them to develop much more efficient and environmentally friendly models.

Obtaining this certification by Midea has been possible thanks to the great efforts made by it in the field of innovation. During this year , it has opened 28 R&D centers in 11 countries. With them, the brand not only seeks to have the opportunity to launch better home appliances on the market, both in terms of design and efficiency, but also to contribute its grain of sand to the global technological race for the preservation of the planet. Likewise, the recognition comes from the launch of a new combi refrigerator with energy classification A and sound level A, to which, at the end of the year, a whole range of electrical appliances with energy certificates between C and A will be added. This range consists of combi and multi-door refrigerators, side by side and, chest and built in models

Electrolux Professional Loopcycle product traceability platform

Electrolux Professional has partnered with product traceability platform Loopcycle, in an effort to extend products’ lifecycle and improve circularity within the supply chain.

The platform allows users to register individual products from across the manufacturer’s commercial foodservice, beverage and laundry portfolios, and assign a unique Cyclecode to each. This enables dealers and end users to access a full mechanical history of the appliance, allowing them to more easily identify best practice and when to undertake servicing.

Loopcycle facilitates the tracking of appliances even if they’re sold on by the initial buyer. With a unique Cyclecode assigned to each unit, operators can ensure that they know exactly what they are purchasing when in the market for a second-hand appliance.
