LG QuadWash dishwasher leverages state of the art steam technology

LG Electronics (LG) is looking to set new standards for dishwashers with its latest LG QuadWash Steam, equipped with the company’s exclusive TrueSteam technology.
According to the brand, its new dishwasher is “revolutionary”, and sets itself apart from the competition with steam technology that promises to not only clean more effectively, but also more efficiently. LG says the dishwasher’s host of unique performance-enhancing technologies “offer a game-changing way to wash dishes”.

How the technology works
TrueSteam emits high temperature steam consisting of tiny particles to clean everything from delicate stemware to steel pots and pans, easily separating stains and leftovers from dishes, LG says. And, the technology is said to soak and loosen tough caked-on food before the main washing cycle.

By spraying steam at the end of a cycle, the LG QuadWash Steam dishwasher reduces undesirable water spots – one of the most common complaints of dishwasher users – by up to 30%, LG claims.

As well as promising impeccable results in cleaning, LG believes it also offers similar results where hygiene is concerned, while hot and pure steam particles from boiling water ensure that all dishes undergo thorough hygienic cleaning.

Another core technology of the dishwasher, QuadWash features four spray arms instead of the two which is more common in other dishwashers.

The multi-motion arms sweep and rotate back and forth while spinning in both directions to clean plates, glassware, and cookware of all shapes and sizes from nearly every angle. Thanks to multi-directional water streams shot by the spinning attachments, LG says its dishwasher offers a more thorough clean.

The dishwasher is powered by the Inverter Direct Drive Motor, which is designed to boost energy efficiency and reduce noise. The motor also adjusts water intensity to allow the soft settings necessary for fragile dishware in the upper rack and a stronger setting for pots and pans in the lower level. This versatility offers more effective cleaning without damaging the dishware, LG says.

In addition, the EasyRack Plus system promises “outstanding” flexibility and convenience, adjusting to just about any load of dishes, even long-stem wine glasses, LG notes. With one touch, the upper rack’s height is adjustable to three levels.

Finally, LG ThinQ technology has elevated the functionality of a dishwasher to ease daily life for consumers. With the handy LG ThinQ app, users can start or stop the dishwasher from anywhere, monitor cycle time and even get an alert when the dishes are clean to have the kids unload the dishwasher before they get home. QuadWash Steam dishwasher offers nine pre-set wash cycles selectable from the app.

Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, commented: “LG QuadWash Steam dishwasher offers everything consumers expect from an LG appliance: convenience, flexibility and especially performance. Steam technology offers the perfect balance of superior performance with gentle care, and this kind of innovation has practical and convenience-boosting purpose that customers expect from LG.”

Boasting a 27-inch LCD screen and LG’s upgradable options, the new model can display personalized content to match any season or to instantly refresh the room using the LG ThinQ app. It also delivers energy-efficient cooling and heating with LG’s DUAL Inverter Compressor™ and 3-way indirect airflow, provides a more hygienic performance with AI Dry™ and offers a variety of user-friendly features including an intuitive mobile app.

Presenting exclusive content on a bright LCD screen bordered by a simple, yet sophisticated frame, the ARTCOOL Gallery gives one the impression they are looking at a framed work of art rather than an advanced LG air conditioner. Using the LG ThinQ app, users can select from a growing range of gorgeous, static and animated images – or choose from favorite family photos – and display something new whenever they feel like a change. The new model can be easily managed using the included smart remote or via a mobile app1 that lets users choose settings and functions as well as monitor the appliance’s status in real-time, from any location.

Equipped with the company’s DUAL Inverter Compressor, the new ARTCOOL Gallery delivers energy-efficient cooling, using up to 70 percent less power than a conventional residential air conditioner.2 The new model’s 3-way airflow provides indirect airflows suitable for the space. LG to Present Spacious yet Sleek InstaView Refrigerator at CES 2023

New Counter-Depth French-Door Fridge Boasts Mirror InstaView™ Panel,
Large Capacity and Four Types of Ice

LG Electronics (LG) is set to unveil the new LG InstaView™ French-Door refrigerator at CES 2023. Helping users create a more stylish kitchen that sits flush with the cabinetry and enjoy an upgraded culinary life, the new counter-depth model offers large capacity and a simple yet elegant built-in design featuring a mirror InstaView panel and unobtrusive pocket handles. It also provides four different types of ice and keeps food fresh for longer with LG’s advanced freshness technologies.

The company’s new, 25.5-cubic feet counter-depth refrigerator offers a generous capacity, despite a nine percent reduction in depth compared to a conventional French-Door model.1 To increase internal storage space, LG redesigned several of the fridge’s core components – slimming-down the cold air duct and the evaporator, while also reducing thickness by applying enhanced insulation. Although its expansive interior provides 25 percent more room for storing food and drinks than LG’s previous counter-depth models,2 the new French-Door can still help to save space in the kitchen thanks to its smaller footprint.

The new model also brings a simple yet sophisticated aesthetic to the kitchen courtesy of LG’s unique mirror-InstaView panel and flat door design. Bordered in sleek stainless steel, the mirror-coated glass of the seamless InstaView panel covers almost the entire right-hand door of the refrigerator. Just by knocking twice on the panel, users can check inside without having to open the door – a time-saving convenience that prevents cold air from escaping and energy from being wasted. The subtle, minimalist beauty and clean, modern lines of LG’s latest InstaView are further enhanced by the discrete pocket handles applied to the fridge’s ‘flat’ doors.

Additionally, the new French-Door refrigerator can create four different types of ice: cubed ice, crushed ice, LG’s exclusive, slow-melting round Craft Ice and the new mini cubed ice. Helping to keep drinks refreshingly cool, LG’s mini cubed ice makes a great addition to juices, sodas or cocktails. With four frozen choices at their disposal, users can select whichever style of ice best suits their need, their drink or the occasion.

Featuring LG’s cutting-edge technologies, the new fridge seals in the freshness of ingredients for longer and helps maintain the hygiene of the built-in water dispenser. The company’s exclusive LinearCooling™ technology reduces temperature fluctuations, enabling the fridge to preserve food at peak freshness for up to seven days.3 Meanwhile, DoorCooling+™ works faster than a conventional cooling system4 to help keep food fresher – and beverages colder – on every shelf. On top of that, LG’s UVnano™ tech maintains the cleanliness of the fridge’s water dispenser, reducing the presence of bacteria on the dispenser’s nozzle by 99.99 percent.5

“LG’s new InstaView French-Door refrigerator makes a superb, stylish addition to any modern kitchen, offering consumers the ultimate in convenience, design and food freshness,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “We will continue to deliver outstanding customer value and experiences with innovative home solutions leveraging elegant, functional design and our advanced technologies.”

Another of the newly-announced changes, the H&A Company’s “Living Appliance Business’ and “Kitchen Appliance Business” will become the “Living Solution Business” and “Kitchen Solution Business” , respectively. The renaming aligns with LG’s renewed focus on customer experience innovation and points to the greater emphasis the company is placing on the expansion of content and services.

LG Debuts Home 8 Residential Energy Storage System

Residential energy storage systems have been a growing opportunity for CE pros, and another big name is providing an attractive option in the category. LG Electronics has introduced the Home 8 residential energy storage system (ESS), a new all-in-one solution that the company says will enable U.S. homeowners to manage energy, provide backup power and reduce dependence on the electric grid. The LG Home 8 ESS was unveiled at the 2022 RE+ (formerly SPI) trade show in Anaheim, Calif., this week, where LG Electronics USA also is demonstrating a LG commercial ESS version for the U.S. market.

CE Pro tabbed the smart energy storage and management category as one of the five top tech opportunities for custom integrators in 2022, based in part because of some bigger names entering the fray.

LG’s Home 8 energy storage system combines an advanced inverter and battery in a single unit that is floor standing, and wall supported to provide an organized, streamlined installation, according to the company. Its 7.5kW inverter/charger provides a total capacity of 14.4kWh of usable on-demand energy and is stackable up to four units, which in combination allows up to 57.6kWh of usable energy.

Customers who do not have a solar PV system and have a Time of Use plan can still use Home 8, LG says. The ESS can be used independently from the grid and can charge during the daytime when electricity prices are lower. Home 8 can then be utilized during peak consumption hours when prices increase. In preparation for potential natural disasters and power outages, Home 8 can store energy in advance for later use.An all-in-one energy storage system manufactured by a global leader in smart home technology

LG Electronics focuses on the at-home shoe care experience with the introduction of LG Styler ShoeCase and ShoeCare at IFA 2022. Equipped with the TrueSteam technology, LG’s solution offers innovative, customized shoe management, collection and storage to enable new daily lifestyles. “As the culture of collecting expensive designer, luxury and limited-edition sneakers grows among the MZ generation – Millennials and Gen Z – LG’s internal research found that these ‘sneakerheads’ would benefit greatly from a solution that not only made their cherished shoes stand out more, but also provided them with the optimal care”, the company comments.
