The latest innovations by Siemens

This year’s IFA is full of exciting innovations in the field of home appliances. We present highlights from the BSH brand Siemens.

The global Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the world in many ways. Few things are as they were, but a few trends have only been amplified by lockdowns and home offices: for many people, the kitchen is the center of quality of life in their own homes. “Despite – or perhaps because of – Corona, around a third of all city dwellers would like to invest in their kitchen in the near future,” says Roland Hagenbucher, Managing Director of Siemens Home Appliances Germany.

It is no wonder then that the BSH brand Siemens has placed its focus on the topic “kitchen” for the IFA, which will take place in a virtual showroom in 2020. It is precisely in this field that Siemens can point to years of experience in smart technologies and stylish designs. And it is also precisely in these fields that Siemens is presenting a whole range of innovative and aesthetic new products, all with the aim of improving the quality of life for consumers.

The future of dishwashing

The first demonstration of this, is BSH’s new generation of dishwashers. This clever series was developed for both the Siemens and Bosch brands and is 100% connected from the entry-level model to the premium model. Automated programs allow the consumer to fully adjust the appliance to their needs. Using Home Connect, they can also speed up the washing cycle – no more frantic dishwashing when guests arrive early!

Of course, the new generation is also available in a wide range of different versions so that the dishwasher can be perfectly integrated into the kitchen. The result is full flexibility without sacrificing performance or appearance.

Showstopping cooking

Combining an elegant look with the latest innovation was also the goal of the glassdraftAir table fan. This slim glass panel sits behind the stove top and can be extended while cooking. The patented Guided-Air technology creates an air curtain behind the glass panel, which directly draws in fumes – even from cooking zones that are further away. This powerful extractor power, together with an integrated light show in the glass panel, sets the stage for showstopping cooking.

The perfect addition is the activeLight cooktop, upon which pots and pans can be placed flexibly thanks to the interactive light matrix. Of course, the cooktop and the table fan can be connected with each other, so that the power of the extractor fan can be controlled directly from the cooktop – a function which, by the way, is possible with all Siemens cooktops equipped with cookConnect.

Breathtaking design

Good design does not always have to be extravagant – it can also be clever solutions that make life easier for a lot of people. Just like the inductionAir Plus cooktop. This innovative cooktop with integrated extractor fan can be adapted to the most diverse architectural environments, thanks to a wide range of different sizes. So almost every household can enjoy a cooking experience without fumes. No wonder the cooktop has already won an iF Award and a Red Dot Design Award!

A coffee to round things off

The crowning glory for Siemens at IFA 2020 is the EQ.9 plus – a fully automatic coffee machine. This successful series is now available in two different designs: a chic chrome look, similar to typical Italian coffee machines, and a sophisticated dark-inox casing. There is also the new baristaMode, where the espresso or coffee can be adjusted to personal taste. “Especially in times of Corona, when people work from home a lot, I can enjoy coffee in my own home the way I love it,” says product designer Melanie Mager.

Siemens to open first UK home appliance showroom in London

The showroom, which is 350 sq m and situated in London will feature the exhibiting a full scope of Siemens appliances

Siemens reported that the showroom has been planned in view of the two customers and exchange accomplices. Every guest will have an encounter custom fitted to their requirements, and will have the chance to see the apparatuses in real life.

The aesthetic of Bauknecht’s built-in suite – carefully designed to enhance user interaction for excellent results – reflects trends in contemporary living and modern style inspired by geometric kitchen design. The elegantly designed hood has an easy-to-clean full glass, rear-painted, vertical surface. The induction hob heating zones are highlighted with a dual-colored graphic coherent with Whirlpool brand language.

Hisense efficiency

Hisense wants to showcase its most advanced and efficient household products, with the intention of respecting the environment. Therefore, it combines the best design, the latest innovation and the greatest efficiency to bring the latest advances to the users and favor the saving of energy consumption.

The company reinvests a significant amount of annual revenue in its 12 R&D centers around the world for the development of more efficient products and capable of leading an increasingly sustainable path. In addition, the company implements in its facilities recycling systems that contribute to the improvement of its profitability and allow the reuse of materials to reduce the environmental impact.

Among Hisense’s contributions to greater energy efficiency, the firm recommends regulating the temperature properly both at home and in the workplace. In this sense, determining the ideal temperature is easier thanks to the integration of wi-fi in models such as Brissa CA70BT01 . It is also important that they work with R-32, a pure refrigerant gas that has a low Atmospheric Heating Potential.

Hisense appliances, such as the WFGS1016VM A +++ washing machine (-20%) or the HS6130W Dishwasher , are committed to an A +++ rating. And the Inverter technology of products such as Brissa CA50XS01 can save energy and extend the life of appliances.

A connected home is a more responsible home, so the new Hisense appliances have ConnectLife, an application capable of offering reminders for the maintenance of registered devices, advice on food preparation and other useful household tricks. In addition, it integrates services and products offered by external partners, such as Alexa, Google or Siri.

Finally, it is essential to avoid bad habits of using appliances. For example, introducing hot foods into the refrigerator means 5% more energy consumption for each degree you need to cool. When cooking, the heat of food must be maintained at all times. A good example is the new Hisense induction hob, such as I6456C . Thanks to the programs it incorporates, you can keep the residual heat and keep the dishes warm and combine different cooking zones to create a single large cooking area.

Electrolux has developed a new intelligent induction hob with SenseBoil® technology

Electrolux has developed a new intelligent induction hob with SenseBoil® technology, which simplifies every cooking activity. In the two sizes of 60 and 80 cm wide, the SenseBoil® hob offers a significant flexibility: through the special sensor present in the 4 Infinite cooking zones, it perceives the vibrations of boiling water and automatically adjusts the level of heat, avoiding spills from the pot.
For greater flexibility and efficiency, the Bridge function connects two different cooking zones into a larger one, allowing the use of pans of any shape and size. Moreover, at the touch of a slider command on the digital display, the PowerSlide function activates three preset temperature levels (high, medium, low) so as to easily slide the pan from the warmest to the coldest area without the need to manually manage the power. Anyway, the hob ensures extreme cooking precision thanks to the heat system adjustable up to 14 levels. The model also features the Hob2Hood technology that connects the hood to the hob with the integrated wireless connection, automatically activating and adjusting the first according to the intensity of use of the hob: the environment will always be fresh and free of odors.
Finally, thanks to the Stop+Go program, what is cooked does not cool down because the cooking zones are automatically adjusted to the “keeping warm” level. In addition, the Child Safety function blocks the ignition and controls, preventing any intervention by children.
The Electrolux SenseBoil® hob also ensures energy efficiency, because it is possible to regulate the energy absorption from 1.5 kW to 7.2 kW.

The success of Gorenje Retro display convinced Boulanger to re-create the same display at another prestigious location in the vicinity of the Eiffel tower, in the premium Beaugrenelle shopping mall, one of the biggest shopping malls in Paris’ inner city.
This collection includes several kind of household appliances with a vintage look and many color variants. The models are performant and ensures energy efficiency and functionality.

When you enter the kitchen, the 21-inch large-screen refrigerator will recommend recipes based on the user’s health information. Users can place orders directly on the screen for the ingredients that are missing in the recipe and can also start the oven to preheat accordingly. Smart hobs replaced traditional buttons with touch screen controls. After turning on the switches, they can automatically turn on the lights according to the brightness of the room.

Bertazzoni

Valentina Bertazzoni, Style and Marketing Director of Bertazzoni, in collaboration with ItalianBark’s interior design blogger Elisabetta Rizzato, identified five design tips based on the major design trends of next year

The first is the total black style and can be obtained integrating the graphic and linear design of the kitchen furniture with black coloured appliances, thus creating an elegant contrast. The special Bertazzoni finishes such as Carbon and Nero Décor give a strong character to built-in ovens, while matt Black and the black glass of the hobs embellish the 2020 kitchen with refined details. Bertazzoni appliances are available in three aesthetic series: Professional Series, Modern Series and Heritage Series, each offering a dark variant as well as its own distinctive character.

Bertazzoni Modern Series
The second trend is conceived to perfectly combine aesthetics and practicality: in the design phase it is always advisable to keep in mind the rule of the “work triangle” that structures the furniture based on the natural flow of functions that are typical of the kitchen space: storage, washing and cooking. The complete suite of Bertazzoni appliances, available in the three iconic series, results in the combination of efficient products for cooking, ventilation, cooling and washing.
As third trend, Bertazzoni proposes the solution with central island, that respond to the increasingly fluid and multifunctional space. Ideal for this kind of kitchen is the induction hob with integrated hood, that the company offers in ease of use and ease of cleaning versions. In fact, the filters and motors of these appliances are perfectly integrated in the hob so that their appearance is identical to that of a normal induction hob. Available with the suction grid positioned in the center of the hob or with a thin retractable hood in the back that is operated through an intuitive touch display.
For 2020 smart solution could not miss. Bertazzoni proposes new built-in ovens in the Total Steam variant ensuring good cooking results while maintaining the nutritional properties of food thanks to the innovative steam injection system. Among the 11 functions there is the new smart interface “Bertazzoni Assistant” which allows users to set and record customized cooking programs.

Bertazzoni Professional Series
The last trend identify by the company for the next decade is the use of precious and refined finishes. Bertazzoni design has always stood out for the combination of industrial production methods and precision engineering skills with the added value of the know-how that has always characterized Italian craftsmanship. The Bertazzoni Modern Series appliances allow to customize the kitchen environment of the new decade with fine finishes in two metallic variants: copper and zinc.
