Taurus Group has presented during the IFA Fair in Berlin one of its most anticipated launches, the new Mycook Next kitchen robot, the new generation of IoT kitchen robots designed entirely by the Taurus Group.
Specifically, the new Mycook model will be produced at the TAG Automotive factory in Terrassa (Barcelona), following the company’s local reindustrialization plan.
The Group acquired TAG Automotive (formerly Nifco Products Spain), at the end of last year, in an operation that was part of the innovation and reindustrialization plan of Grupo Taurus in Europe focused on industry 4.0. The production of the new Mycook represents a further step in its objective to manufacture part of its small electrical appliance products in its local plants, especially the most innovative products, such as the Mycook kitchen robots. “Grupo Taurus is the only company that designs and manufactures this type of product, with high added value and technologically advanced, in Spain”, they point out from the company.
Mycook Next stands out for its large color screen of more than 10”, being the kitchen robot with the largest touch screen on the market, which offers a unique user experience. From the screen you can easily access the 30 culinary functions of Mycook Next, browse its online recipe book of more than 3,000 recipes that are constantly growing, filter recipes by ingredients, allergens. In addition, in each recipe you can view the nutritional content, add the ingredients to the shopping list synchronized with the mobile phone or add it to the weekly menu planner.
Following the latest technological advances, the new Mycook Next can be controlled by voice via Alexa and Google Home and has the patented Mycook induction heating system and integrated scale in the same machine.
As an additional value, Mycook has already become a social network of inspiration for thousands of users. Currently, the Club Mycook community in Spain has 80,000 users, who constantly interact creating new recipes that they share with the Mycook community and that make using the food processor more fun.
During IFA, Taurus Group has announced that Mycook Next will be launched soon in the main markets of Europe: France, Germany, Italy and Portugal.

Miele consumption dashboard
Miele announced a new app-based Consumption Dashboard that can help owners of its dishwashers and washing machines monitor their energy and water use. The Consumption Dashboard will also offer tips on how to use these products more efficiently.
Miele plans to launch this feature by the end of 2022. It will initially work with the company’s dishwashers, but Miele will expand support to include its washing machines and other products next year.
Meanwhile, Miele’s new K 4000 generation freestanding refrigeration products feature insulation panels with silica that promise to ensure an A energy efficiency rating for “many years,” according to the company. These models also feature a new system called PerfectFresh Active, which keeps fruits and vegetables at near-freezing temperatures as well as sprays them with a fine mist, like at the grocery store. The company says this should keep produce “crunchy fresh for up to five times longer,” helping to reduce food waste.
Samsung SmartThings AI Energy Mode
With energy prices on the rise, Samsung’s SmartThings platform leverages AI to help you cut down on your power use and save money. It’s one example of the company’s efforts to combat climate change.
“The more technology we add [to our homes], the more energy we use, and that’s not sustainable,” Samsung UK home appliances marketing director Tanya Weller said onstage at IFA. “We are determined to change things.”
With SmartThings, you can monitor and control the energy usage of your Samsung appliances from your phone. If your bill is too high, simply enable AI Energy Mode, which can reduce energy use through small changes, like slightly raising your refrigerator temperature or washing your clothes with cooler water After enabling AI Energy Mode, you can set a monthly target (maximum savings, net-zero home, or custom). Then, every morning, the AI will check whether you’re on track to meet your goal. If necessary, it will set your devices to run on Energy Saving mode for 24 hours.
Samsung says this feature can reduce the energy consumption of its refrigerators and washing machines by 30% and 70%, respectively.

Arçelik Responds to Earth’s Crisis Call in IFA Keynote with Urgent Appeal for Climate Action
Arçelik, the global household appliances manufacturer and parent company of 12 leading home appliance brands, including two of Europe’s well known brands, Beko and Grundig, keynoted at IFA 2022 calling for sector-wide action to tackle climate change.
In his keynote speech, Mr Bulgurlu spoke of the challenge facing the corporate world, highlighting that rising business innovation has led to more consumption, thus contributing to environmental stress. Mr Bulgurlu believes that getting this balance right is the purpose of innovation, to create tailored technological solutions to the world’s environmental challenges. The clean energy transition, the development of regulated, transparent carbon markets, and the phasing out of coal by 2050 were all stressed as essential climate actions the world needs to take if it is to stand any chance of keeping the 1.5C goal alive.
Arçelik’s CEO spoke proudly of the corporation’s steely focus on hitting many ambitious climate targets, imploring that the 2050 target date for Net Zero is not an abstract international exercise, but about the lives of every living species on the planet.
Protecting water supply has never been more urgent in a warming world
The event also saw Arçelik launch a new technology designed to tackle household water waste. The new cutting edge SaveWater technology in dishwasher and tumble dryer-washing machine couple, unveiled exclusively for the first time at IFA Berlin, has been crafted to provide perfect cleaning, while helping households use water more efficiently. The enhanced dishwasher technology saves the last rinsing water in the cycle to be used in the beginning of the next wash. While the SaveWater technology in the tumble dryer-washing machine couple saves up to 5.2 litres of water per load, the dishwasher uses only 6.9 litres of water to wash a full load with 16 place settings capacity, saving 2.6 litres of water every wash whilst offering the lowest water consumption in the Beko range. Developed with water efficiency at heart, the new SaveWater line by Beko gives back a total of up to 7.8 litres of water at every cycle, to you and the world*.
In addition to championing resource efficient innovations, Arçelik also leverages the latest technologies across its own production operations to identify water risks and increase efficiency. Over the past 12 years, Arçelik has saved 2.17 million cubic metres of water, equivalent to the daily water consumption of approximately 2.7 million Turkish households.
Additionally, Arçelik collaborates with both global and local partners, to engage communities and promote sustainable water management. This year, Arçelik is proud to commence its partnership with Water.org, to fund water access projects in Kenya to empower local communities and make a lasting impact to provide water and sanitation solutions.
Hakan Bulgurlu, Chief Executive Officer, Arçelik, said: “Our planet is in a state of climate emergency. Humanity stands at a crossroads in the history of our planet that will define us as a generation of doers or naysayers. At a time like this, sustainability should be a mandatory business model and not merely a cost driver.
“All of us in this industry need to prioritise innovation and commit to inventing technologies that make a real difference to energy, water, and environmental issues.
“At Arçelik we want to use our global status and resources to drive the international agenda for climate protection, greater product efficiencies, and durability to help us all get richer, without making our planet far poorer. The SaveWater product line demonstrates our ambition to be the world’s most sustainable brand and embrace innovative technologies that will benefit people across the world.
“It’s time to step up to the challenge, the reward for our collective climate action will be our security as a viable industry operating in stable markets

where people are free to grow their businesses, their families, and their communities without the risk of climate catastrophe looming large on the horizon.”
Arçelik is constantly innovating to meet the challenges of the 21st century, from resource efficiency to waste management and recycling. This also includes its approach to environmentally-friendly packaging alternatives. In 2021, Arçelik used 324 tons of 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard and 40 tons of molded pulp instead of EPS in the cooker, hood, small domestic appliances, and consumer electronics categories. Arçelik is the first home appliance manufacturer worldwide to offer a major domestic appliances line-up with EPS-free packaging.
These far-reaching commitments and actions have earned Arçelik important industry accolades, including being listed as the first and only Turkish manufacturer in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third year in a row and acknowledged by the FTSE4Good and BIST Indexes

BluRoX: Liebherr Innovative vacuum insulation with perlite
Circular in the future. With our vacuum perlite technology , we are launching an innovation that will change refrigeration and freezing forever. may we introduce BluRoX. Instead of the conventional polyurethane (PU) foam, the new technology uses a far more effective form of cold insulation : a vacuum. Finely ground lava rock, so-called perlite, stabilizes the vacuumed components. Liebherr’s innovative BluRoX technology offers numerous advantages for people and the environment How BluRoX works and its advantages
For insulation , BluRoX uses a vacuum in connection with finely ground lava rock , so-called perlite , instead of the conventional foam elements . Liebherr explains: “A vacuum offers the best possible insulation in terms of energy. Due to its crystalline microstructure, perlite has a very low thermal conductivity. This combination creates an unsurpassed energy-efficient and at the same time compact solution for cold insulation. Because of the particularly effective insulation, the walls of a BluRoX freezer can be made about a third thinner than the walls of a traditional foam insulated unit. For an appliance fully equipped with vacuum perlite technology, the result is around +25% more capacity compared to refrigerators and freezers with the same external dimensions.
Liebherr presents its new BluRoX technology and the first device FNb 5056.
In addition, the raw material perlite is available in almost unlimited quantities. Compared to the production of conventional insulation materials from petroleum-based polyurethane, the entire process from extracting the lava rock to using it as insulation material requires fewer resources . Perlite can be removed at the end of the life of a BluRoX refrigerator or freezer and reused without significant reprocessing. Also, because the BluRoX insulation is not glued to the surrounding components, the outer shell and inner container can also be easily recycled and reused.
