Whirlpool New Heat Pump Dryer
Whirlpool has launched the new FFT M11 8X3BY SPT heat pump dryer with FreshCare + and a capacity of 8 kg. In addition, thanks to the exclusive 6th Sense technology, the device adapts the necessary resources for each cycle, thus achieving more efficient consumption.
The exclusive FreshCare + system stands out because it is able to take care of the garments inside the dryer by controlling the temperature and the constant movement of the drum. This technology inhibits the proliferation of bad odors, keeping the garments fresh in the drum for up to 6 hours after the end of the drying cycle.
With 8 kg capacity and a large item program, the FreshCare + dryer also saves time on appliance maintenance, as there is no need to clean the condenser filter. She does it on her own thanks to the Autocleaning system.
It also includes special programs for different types of garments and fabrics, such as a special program for wool, which has the Woolmark Blue certificate, which guarantees the best care of wool garments and even a special cycle for jeans.
Guaranteed energy savings
Whirlpool’s new dryer stands out for its energy efficiency with an A +++ rating. By having heat pump technology, it always guarantees optimal drying and lower electricity consumption, since it works at a lower temperature.
And with its intelligent 6th Sense system it detects the amount of clothes and humidity in the drum to set the drying duration and thus optimize the energy used during the process.
On the other hand, the model incorporates a high efficiency SenseInverter motor that works at a variable speed, which allows a special care of the fibers. It also makes the device quieter and more durable.
Arçelik Advanced manufacturing
The World Economic Forum (WEF) included Arçelik’s Eskişehir refrigerator plant into its “Global Lighthouse Network,” which recognizes leaders in utilizing Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. It has joined the ranks of the world’s most advanced manufacturing plants, following in the footsteps of Arçelik’s washing machine plant in Ulmi, Romania, and Ford Otosan Kocaeli Plant, both of which were named “Global Lighthouses” in 2018.
Since 2018, the Global Lighthouse Network list has admitted just 90 manufacturing plants to date and these have been selected among more than a thousand candidates. «At Koç Group – said Koç Holding CEO Levent Çakıroğlu – we are focused on increasing our competitiveness, improving our technology and innovation capabilities while managing our business through a global lens. We see digital transformation as a key component of our cultural transformation program».
Çakıroğlu also underlined the significant investments made in digitalization. «Today – he said – our Arçelik Eskişehir Refrigerator Plant – the biggest large-volume refrigerator production facility in Europe, which started production in 1975 – has been selected by the World Economic Forum as one of the world’s leading Industry 4.0 plants. This prestigious global recognition is much deserved thanks to investments in digitalization, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robot and sensor technologies and other exemplary technological practices. I’d like to thank all of my colleagues for helping achieve such a significant success that made us proud
Shark moves into haircair
Shark, the brand known for its highly popular cordless vacuums and small cooking appliances, has followed Dyson into the haircare market, with the launch of a hairdryer that is set to “revolutionise” the hair care market.
The Shark Style iQ Ionic Hair Dryer & Styler – known as the Shark HyperAIR in the US – comes with two attachments, including a diffuser that has extendable prongs, which means the roots, as well as the ends of curly hair, can be dried quickly, while still boosting the volume. It promises “ultra-fast drying with no heat damage and styles for all hair types”.
How it works
Traditional diffusers can cause heat damage because the short prongs mean heat is concentrated on the ends rather than being spread across the length of the hair shaft. The Style iQ diffuser has a built-in lever that can extend or retract the prongs so those with longer hair don’t find the heat is only being projected at the ends of their hair.
According to Shark, the Style iQ delivers premium air power and next-generation intelligence for an easy, healthy hair-care experience. Its Style iQ IQ Technology intelligently combines high-velocity heated air and ionized air for ultra-fast drying, no heat damage, and styles for all hair types. Consumers can also attach any of the four IQ Stylers – IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator, IQ Styling Brush, IQ Curl-Defining Diffuser or the IQ AirWave – and Shark will automatically set the heat & airflow settings for the user, taking the guesswork out of styling, and ensuring a great result every time.
It is available to purchase in the UK and the US now.

Miele Fashion master
The FashionMaster from Miele has been refined and will be immediately launched in Germany and Europe in the 4.0 version. Product engineers at Miele’s Lehrte plant have further improved the FashionMaster, including a larger rest for the iron and a scratch-proof coating in white. The FashionMaster 4.0 is available in three versions: the entry-level B 4312 boasts 3.5 bar steam pressure and a tough, anthracite-coloured ironing table cover. With its tayberry red table ironing cloth, the B 4826, Miele’s premium model with 4 bar of steam pressure, has a fresh appearance, whilst the flagship B 4847 additionally offers top-class ironing, for example, of garments on a coat hanger using the handy steamer.

With steam pressure as high as 4 bar and constant steam delivery of 100 g/minute, steam permeates even the thickest of fabrics, causing even the most stubborn of creases to vanish fast. One key contributing factor is the fan-assisted ironing table: the blower function ensures particularly smooth ironing, whilst the suction function ensures the more intensive use of steam. In addition to this, it also locks garments into position, preventing them from slipping. Automatic switch-on and switch-off ensures optimised uptimes: the fan starts as soon as steam is requested, stopping automatically during ironing breaks.
Whether working with the iron or the steamer – Miele explains – the FashionMaster also offers hygiene and certified protection. By applying steam topically for five seconds with the Miele steam iron (Setting 3) or the steamer, 99.99% of viruses such as Corona, influenza, and Noro viruses (with the exception of Hepatitis B) are removed. This statement has been scientifically endorsed by Germany’s Albstadt-Sigmaringen University. Miele’s ironing system was also awarded the Hygiene Seal in silver by the independent Institute for Integrative Hygiene and Virology
