Spazio hood by Falmec

The winners of the 26th edition of the Compasso d’Oro , the most important award for Italian design, were announced. Among the awarded was the Spazio hood by Falmec designed by Francesco Lucchese-Lucchesedesign Studio, which in addition to a functional component is a real piece of furniture. This is a very important recognition for Falmec confirming the growth path of the Vittorio Veneto-based company, which rewards the approach to excellence, the care and dedication to formulating innovative solutions that improve the quality of time spent within our homes

A design designed to intelligently use and exploit space and to offer greater practicality in kitchen activities. The 180 cm supporting island structure, in fact, consists of comfortable frosted glass shelves for tidy storage of crockery or any other useful object in the kitchen, a channel equipped with hooks for organizing utensils and a LED that broadly illuminates the work surface.

But what makes Spazio a unique hood of its kind are the accessories and additional functions that derive from it.

Spazio is in fact equipped with USB ports and electrical sockets with “bottom view” that allow you to recharge electronic devices such as tablets, smartphones or MP3 players and always have them at hand, and a “tablet holder” support for quick and practical consultation. any application and why not, tasty recipes.

The hood also offers the possibility of housing a small home garden – supplied by Falmec as an accessory – designed for the cultivation of aromatic plants directly in the kitchen.

The hood incorporates the Circle.Tech system , patented by Falmec, which makes Spazio an extraordinary hood also from a performance point of view.
Circle.Tech, in fact, thanks to the union in a single apparatus of the suction and filtering part, which develops horizontally, allows the outgoing air to spread evenly and be effectively filtered by a series of filters that surround the motor . The Carbon.Zeo filter technology is able to retain odors with double effectiveness compared to the classic filter solutions, combining materials of natural origin, such as activated carbon and zeolite, ideal for the absorption of organic compounds and water vapor.

With Spazio, Falmec realizes the desires and needs of each of us, confirming once again a path of excellence and the commitment aimed at improving the experience in the kitchen and in general the quality of daily living at home.

The latest innovations by Siemens

This year’s IFA is full of exciting innovations in the field of home appliances. We present highlights from the BSH brand Siemens.

The global Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the world in many ways. Few things are as they were, but a few trends have only been amplified by lockdowns and home offices: for many people, the kitchen is the center of quality of life in their own homes. “Despite – or perhaps because of – Corona, around a third of all city dwellers would like to invest in their kitchen in the near future,” says Roland Hagenbucher, Managing Director of Siemens Home Appliances Germany.

It is no wonder then that the BSH brand Siemens has placed its focus on the topic “kitchen” for the IFA, which will take place in a virtual showroom in 2020. It is precisely in this field that Siemens can point to years of experience in smart technologies and stylish designs. And it is also precisely in these fields that Siemens is presenting a whole range of innovative and aesthetic new products, all with the aim of improving the quality of life for consumers.

The future of dishwashing

The first demonstration of this, is BSH’s new generation of dishwashers. This clever series was developed for both the Siemens and Bosch brands and is 100% connected from the entry-level model to the premium model. Automated programs allow the consumer to fully adjust the appliance to their needs. Using Home Connect, they can also speed up the washing cycle – no more frantic dishwashing when guests arrive early!

Of course, the new generation is also available in a wide range of different versions so that the dishwasher can be perfectly integrated into the kitchen. The result is full flexibility without sacrificing performance or appearance.

Showstopping cooking

Combining an elegant look with the latest innovation was also the goal of the glassdraftAir table fan. This slim glass panel sits behind the stove top and can be extended while cooking. The patented Guided-Air technology creates an air curtain behind the glass panel, which directly draws in fumes – even from cooking zones that are further away. This powerful extractor power, together with an integrated light show in the glass panel, sets the stage for showstopping cooking.

The perfect addition is the activeLight cooktop, upon which pots and pans can be placed flexibly thanks to the interactive light matrix. Of course, the cooktop and the table fan can be connected with each other, so that the power of the extractor fan can be controlled directly from the cooktop – a function which, by the way, is possible with all Siemens cooktops equipped with cookConnect.

Breathtaking design

Good design does not always have to be extravagant – it can also be clever solutions that make life easier for a lot of people. Just like the inductionAir Plus cooktop. This innovative cooktop with integrated extractor fan can be adapted to the most diverse architectural environments, thanks to a wide range of different sizes. So almost every household can enjoy a cooking experience without fumes. No wonder the cooktop has already won an iF Award and a Red Dot Design Award!

A coffee to round things off

The crowning glory for Siemens at IFA 2020 is the EQ.9 plus – a fully automatic coffee machine. This successful series is now available in two different designs: a chic chrome look, similar to typical Italian coffee machines, and a sophisticated dark-inox casing. There is also the new baristaMode, where the espresso or coffee can be adjusted to personal taste. “Especially in times of Corona, when people work from home a lot, I can enjoy coffee in my own home the way I love it,” says product designer Melanie Mager.

Falmec UK

Falmec, Italian manufacturer of kitchen hoods, has started the new year with an important news: the opening of a Limited branch in the United Kingdom. Beko new hob and hood

Beko presents its latest additions to the cooking range. The first launch is the induction hob HII63200FHT with 3 cooking zones: a double compatible with pots and pans of greater or lesser size and the IndyFlex ® zone that groups two square cooking zones allowing them to operate independently or together as a single larger one. It has an overflow safety function and automatic shutdown.

For those who prefer to cook with gas, the new HILW75222SL is a plate of 5 glass fires with wrought iron supports. Among the 5 fires stands out the high-power wok burner that is located in the center of the plate and with which you can cook quickly without decreasing food nutrients.

In this line, Beko adds to its cooking range a second gas plate: the HILL7522S, has a new configuration that leaves the wok burner placed on the left , giving it greater autonomy.

Both plates have self-ignition integrated in the control and a safety valve in burners, so that if the flame accidentally goes out the gas outlet is automatically interrupted to avoid leaks.

LG pushes built in appliances

LG Electronics Inc. is ramping up investment to expand businesses in the built-in home appliance market to capitalize on the fast growing segment, its president said on Sunday.

Song Dae-hyun, the head of LG’s home appliance and air solution division, said the company aims to become a “top-tier” player in the global built-in home appliance market by 2023.

“We have been focusing on establishing the organization and infrastructure for (the built-in business) since last year, though sales still remain small,” Song said in a press briefing held on the sidelines of the IFA technology show in Berlin.

“Expanding the built-in business takes time and enormous upfront investment because it also involves house designing and remodeling.”

Although the Korean electronics maker still lags behind European built-in industry leaders with long traditions and established customer bases, Song said LG has been expanding its presence in the key market with differentiated customer service.

“After-sales service for built-in products is challenging because (engineers) have to disassemble parts for repairing,” Song said.

“We tell customers that they can get service whenever they need, which helped our business grow rapidly.”

Song also vowed to step up connectivity of different gadgets, using artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, to lead the promising smart home market, stressing the firm’s broad portfolio, ranging from home appliances to smartphones.

“A growing number of European companies are adopting IoT and AI (in home appliances),” the president said.

“I think LG has a more solid technological base (than them) and is well positioned to succeed in the European market.”

As part of the broader plan, LG introduced “Proactive Customer Care” at IFA, which features AI monitoring compatible appliances for potential problems like abnormal temperature and air flow.

The firm said it plans to roll out the AI care service on new front-loading washers and bottom-freezer refrigerators in Europe first, and bring them to North America and Asia next year.

The Elica Observatory unveils the new kitchen trends for 2019

The Elica Observatory shows the new kitchen trends in terms of volumes, styles and finishes that will be protagonists in 2019. In the contemporary kitchen the volumes are broken down to transmit solidity with harmoniously combined monolithic shapes. “For example, the rigid, linear and impressive shape of the innovative Haiku hood – Elica explains – makes it a volume that takes up the space precisely and without frills”. In addition, elegant metal structures lighten even the most impressive furnishings. Unusual lines and sharp angles give life to original surfaces that add personality to the environment. The Elica Observatory shows that the new year will be marked by important news in the choice of materials and finishes. Together with the metal, which is enriched in aesthetics thanks to new treatments, textures and rust effects, there is cement, a simple material but full of personality and structured.

Lullaby hood
Then there is wood, which is even more precious when it becomes a detail in combinations with other materials. “Wood – Elica says – harmonizes perfectly with elements such as copper, steel and ceramic in the new Lullaby ceiling hoods, an exclusive project that combines materials and light to create a comfortable environment”. Besides, the veined stones and the marble grit are again protagonists in the kitchen, and there is a raising of the role of the steel which, from accessible and economical element, becomes the protagonist of the entire kitchen for a high level professional look.
On the aesthetic theme some trends of the last years are confirmed. The imagery of the converted industrial loft is still a trend whose main characteristics are pipes, walls made of raw bricks, metal and cement. Evolution of this style is the industrial chic where the furnishings lose their roughness and acquire a more elegant appearance.

NikolaTesla hob
“In this context – Elica continues – the innovative line of the induction hobs with integrated extraction NikolaTesla represents a perfect combination of innovation and design, expressed through clean lines and a cutting-edge technological heart. The Switch model is characterized by an elegant continuous glass surface, interrupted only by a central ring in metal and glass which, by turning on itself, activates the extraction and guarantees very high performances in terms of captation, noise reduction and energy efficiency. The Libra model stands out for its elegant cast-iron grill, which gives the product a professional look and that integrates not just the hood but also an important tool in the kitchen: the scale”. Finally, the country style is reinterpreted in a modern way, lightening shapes and materials, while in the “scandinese” mood (a contamination between Scandinavian and Japanese styles) the naturalness of Scandinavian design materials meets the simplicity of the Japanese shapes.
