Electrolux professional fighting COVID-19

When COVID-19 broke out, Electrolux professional started looking at solutions that could inactivate pathogenic microorganisms through washing programs. With the help of expertise from the research institute RISE in Gothenburg, Electrolux were able to develop a completely new washing program for Line 6000 that inactivates viruses from textiles.

The program is designed for private individuals and therefore perfect for users of machines in utility rooms.

As a result of COVID-19, more and more people have become worried about infection, so that we can now offer an effective washing program to inactivate a range of viruses feels very good”, says Silvana Johansson, Global Head of Category Laundry at Electrolux Professional.

BSH Consumer satisfaction: A brief review of over five decades of consumer research

The consumer is at the centre of everything we do – that has always been the motto of BSH. That is why it’s important for BSH to understand what consumers really want.

But how do you find out what that is? Here is a brief review of over five decades of consumer research, and how that drove them to create appliances that provide value to our customers:

Whirlpool launches the Supreme Silence range

Whirlpool focuses on silence with the new range of Supreme Silence washing machines, created to meet the needs of consumers who spend more and more time at home. The low noise reaches 65 dBA during the spin cycle, obtaining the class A. All this also thanks to the Zen lateral sound-absorbing panels and the ZenMotor that help reduce vibrations and noise. In addition, Autodose Push to Open (the push-to-open detergent drawer) opens gently with a touch, while the mixed load program works below 60 dBA and can be used both day and night without the fear of disturbing. Whirlpool Supreme Silence contains all the most advanced technologies of the brand, such as 6th SENSE, WaterSave and AutoDose, allowing user to save energy, water and detergent. As for the design, it’s meant for a product life of over 10 years, and the appliance has been created with recyclable components (87%). Finally, Whirlpool Supreme Silence is equipped with three different steam technologies: Steam Hygiene (able to remove up to 99.9% of bacteria from each wash), Steam Refresh (which fights bad odors, ensuring that the laundry stays fresh) and FreshCare+ for greater freshness of the laundry until it is removed from the washing machine drum.

New Bosch Built in ovens

The new Bosch Series 6 ovens presents the Hotair 3D technology, which activates both the fan and the circular electric heating element located on the rear wall of the oven. Working in synergy, the fan quickly and evenly distributes the heat produced by the heating element which, expanding throughout the oven cavity, heats the cavity at 360° with a three-dimensional effect. “In this way – the company says – it is possible to cook different dishes on different levels, without any mixing of flavours and aromas, achieving perfect cooking results every time: whether it is a question of cooking a dish from the beginning, or regenerating, using the special function, dishes that have already been prepared or prepared the day before”. The new Bosch 6 Series ovens with steam pulses have a 220 ml removable water tank that can be easily refilled. The intensity of the steam pulses can be set manually, as required, or automatically. “Those who are new to the kitchen or want to simplify their daily cooking routine can let themselves be guided by the AutoPilot function – the company adds -. Thanks to the 30 pre-set automatic programmes, all you have to do is put the food in the oven, enter the weight, press Start and let AutoPilot do the rest: from choosing the most suitable function, with or without steam, to the temperature and duration, right through to turning the oven off when it is cooked”.
