Smeg buy FRIMED specialist refrigeration manufacturer

SMEG announce the acquisition of specialist Italian refrigeration manufacturer FRIMED, operating in the hospital, industrial, biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors.

FRIMED will join Smeg’s growing instrumental business, consolidating the
company’s presence in the medical sector, leading to the sharing of the know-how and creation of solutions with high technological value.

Miele USA shared its Generation 7000 appliance series. Designed with an assortment of built-ins ranging from convection ovens to coffee machines and vacuum-sealing drawers, the collection offers four different models with smart technology features; they include TasteControl, which prevents food from overcooking by automatically opening the oven door when it detects burning, and a MotionReact function that activates the oven light when someone approaches.

Smeg  brand La Pavoni,

Host, held from 22 to 26 October 2021 in Milan, Smeg took part with the historical brand La Pavoni, acquired by the company in 2019. During the Fair, to welcome customers and visitors, a stand was dedicated to design and tradition, in which history and innovation came together in the models presented to the market.

The protagonist has been the new Diamantina, reinterpreted by Raffaella Mangiarotti and Matteo Bazzicalupo of @deepdesign. Bringing back the first Concorso model of 1956 to its former glory, the machine perfectly embodies the founding values of the historic brand.

Not only novelties, but also an authentic piece of history were presented at the La Pavoni stand: on display the first espresso machine designed and built by Desiderio Pavoni in 1905, L’Ideale, restored by careful restoration. Alongside the domestic models, professional machines were also displayed to guarantee catering professionals innovative solutions like the new version of the automatic Bar T model, designed in collaboration with _blank design studio.

Milan Design Week 2021, Smeg and Italia Independent renew their bond, sharing their historical production know-how, guided by the same vocation for the pursuit of quality and for the dissemination of Italian style throughout the world.

The collaboration between the two companies has been established since 2012, resulting in the creation of the iconic FAB28 refrigerator in the Denim version and the SMEG500 refrigerator in collaboration with Fiat, presented in 2013. From 4 to 10 September 2021 the SMEG refrigerator covered in Denim will be exhibited in memory of the first collaboration between the brands, together with the timeless SMEG500 refrigerator, at the Italia Independent Boutique located in the center of Brera in via Fiori Chiari, 24 in Milan.

The Flagship store – developed on a total area of 90 square meters – was designed with of idea of welcoming customers. An innovative environment, characterized by furnishings, lights, layouts that evoke the spaces in which Lapo lives and works. The absolute protagonists are the new Italia Independent, Laps Collection, CR7 Eyewear and Hublot Eyewear collections, which stand out in dedicated spaces so as to give each brand the right visibility
