Addressing different needs to different consumers, the QuadWash allows consumers to adjust the height of the upper rack to three different levels, which enables loading taller items. It gives a choice of the Turbo Cycle to clean stubborn soiled dishes in less than an hour, conserving energy that would have been used for longer.

The Dual Zone Wash gently cleans your delicate dishes and also lets you power-wash the heavy-duty pots and pans, allowing less use of the dishwasher for a variety of dirty dishes to be done simultaneously. The temperature of the tub reaches up to 80 degree Celsius, ensuring deep cleaning and ultimate hygienic care of dishes.

The patented and very efficient Smart ThinQ feature allows the connection of the QuadWash dishwasher with the user’s smartphone. This helps the user to monitor the cleaning at their most convenience with a tap of a screen. Furthermore, one of the features within the QuadWash, is the Machine Clean Reminder function which works well to remind users to run the cleaning cycle to keep the dishwasher fresh and highly functional.

LG’s Instaview refrigerators promote sustainable lifestyle

LG’s InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerators.

Once opened, conventional refrigerator can take 1-2 hours to regain maximum cooling level, affecting food located inside. As part of LG’s range of smart kitchen solutions, the InstaView Door-in-Door™ is equipped with a sleek mirrored glass panel that lights up with two knocks, allowing users to check inside the easy access compartment without opening the door – preventing cold air loss by up to 41%.

With less frequent temperature fluctuations, items such as fruit, vegetables and dairy products can remain fresher for longer. The refrigerator also features the Hygiene Fresh+™ technology, which automatically cleans and purifies its internal air. LG vows to become game changer in home appliances

LG Electronics will continue to bring innovation to the rapidly changing home appliance industry and maintain its premium brand image by introducing a range of trend-leading products, Song Dae-hyun, president of the tech giant’s home appliance and air systems division, said at the IFA tech fair, Saturday.

Stating that the tech company has launched a series of appliances that have inspired the industry to rake new approaches, Song vowed to keep performing its trendsetting role in the business.

“When we first launched the Styler, we were not sure whether the steam closet would do well. But an increasing number of consumers are recognizing the value of the device and now our competitors are rushing to roll out similar products,” Song told reporters during a press conference.

At the IFA trade fair, the company introduced its state-of-the-art products such as the Styler steam closet, the artificial intelligence (AI) powered AI DD Washing Machine, 8K OLED TV, beer brewing machine HomeBrew, and its premium appliance lineup SIGNATURE.

LG also has been a fast mover in releasing appliances that connect with each other through internet of things (IoT) technology. Though he has witnessed that many late starters are trying to catch up, Song said such moves were welcome because they helped expand the industry scope.

“As seen in a race, the frontrunner can have broader horizons. We came up with the concept that our appliances get connected with others faster than other companies and could establish brand awareness as an industry leader,” he said.

“There has been growing uncertainties over our business due to external factors such as the U.S.-China trade feud. To cope with such difficulties, we will continue to offer differentiated premium products and technologies. I think this is the way we can win over consumers’ hearts and minds,” he added.

Song said the IFA could provide a glimpse at how its competitors are doing and pointed to Haier, a Chinese home appliance maker, saying it has achieved impressive growth in recent years.

“Chinese makers such as Haier have attained impressive growth in recent years. They are rushing to release products that have features similar to Korean makers. But I think there is still a long way to go for their hardware capabilities to catch up to ours,” he said.

In reaction to the rapid growth of the Chinese makers, Song emphasized LG has to work on retaining its premium position by focusing on offering more valuable products to customers.

“It is not significant to talk about how many appliances we sell. The important thing is we have to establish brand awareness with our premium products so that we can be in the hearts of our customers,” he said.

Speaking of the European market, known as one of the world’s most lucrative, Song said LG has the potential to attract more customers there with its competitiveness in AI and IoT technologies.

“There are many home appliance powerhouses in Europe. For a long time, European electronics makers have been focusing on producing appliances while LG has been making various products in other categories.

“Though European makers are trying to pursue IoT and AI technologies, we have a comparative advantage in these emerging technologies. Based on the competitiveness, I think we will be able to make a success in Europe,” he said.

LG Electronics innovative front-loader washing machines

LG Electronics innovative front-loader washing machines with ThinQ AI powered by the company’s proprietary Direct Drive™ . These new models will be available to most European markets by the end of the year. Thanks to AI DD™ the new washers are able to deliver thorough yet gentle cleaning by determining the weight and fabric characteristics of each load to deliver faster and better laundry results.
LG’s AI DD technology leverages big data on twenty thousand pieces of information related to washer usage and applies settings based on the volume and delicateness of the garments in each load of laundry to provide the most optimized washing cycle. According to the company, this guarantees exceptionally clean laundry every time with the added benefit of an 18 percent reduction in damage to the clothes, prolonging the life of every wardrobe.
Moreover, LG’s TurboWash™ 360 feature delivers the convenience of a shorter laundry day without compromising cleanliness, requiring just 39 minutes to complete a full wash cycle. And 3D Multi Spray also helps get clothes clean in less time by shooting jets of water in four different directions simultaneously for more stain-fighting coverage. Customers can save even more time by pairing the LG AI DD washing machine with LG MiniWash which fits directly underneath to create a TWINWash™ system to handle two loads of laundry at once.
Boasting the durability and efficiency that European consumers demand, LG AI DD washing machines deliver an efficient energy rating of A+++-50 percent in no small part due to LG’s inverter technology, guaranteed by a 10-year warranty. For additional user convenience, LG AI DD washers can be managed using voice commands from a connected AI speaker as well as controlled and monitored with the ThinQ mobile app.
«The combination of ThinQ AI with LG’s proven Direct Drive technology – explains Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company – delivers customer benefits that are more significant than anything in the evolution of washing machines in the past century. It is this kind of innovation that is required to win the hearts and minds of European consumers who expect nothing but the best in their home appliances

LG pushes built in appliances

LG Electronics Inc. is ramping up investment to expand businesses in the built-in home appliance market to capitalize on the fast growing segment, its president said on Sunday.

Song Dae-hyun, the head of LG’s home appliance and air solution division, said the company aims to become a “top-tier” player in the global built-in home appliance market by 2023.

“We have been focusing on establishing the organization and infrastructure for (the built-in business) since last year, though sales still remain small,” Song said in a press briefing held on the sidelines of the IFA technology show in Berlin.

“Expanding the built-in business takes time and enormous upfront investment because it also involves house designing and remodeling.”

Although the Korean electronics maker still lags behind European built-in industry leaders with long traditions and established customer bases, Song said LG has been expanding its presence in the key market with differentiated customer service.

“After-sales service for built-in products is challenging because (engineers) have to disassemble parts for repairing,” Song said.

“We tell customers that they can get service whenever they need, which helped our business grow rapidly.”

Song also vowed to step up connectivity of different gadgets, using artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, to lead the promising smart home market, stressing the firm’s broad portfolio, ranging from home appliances to smartphones.

“A growing number of European companies are adopting IoT and AI (in home appliances),” the president said.

“I think LG has a more solid technological base (than them) and is well positioned to succeed in the European market.”

As part of the broader plan, LG introduced “Proactive Customer Care” at IFA, which features AI monitoring compatible appliances for potential problems like abnormal temperature and air flow.

The firm said it plans to roll out the AI care service on new front-loading washers and bottom-freezer refrigerators in Europe first, and bring them to North America and Asia next year.

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will introduce high-priced home appliances to woo European consumers at the IFA tech trade show

Samsung will showcase three home appliances ― Air Dresser steam closet, Jet cordless vacuum and “windless” air purifier Cube ― while LG will introduce a washing machine equipped with artificial intelligence (AI).

Samsung expects the three home appliances will become a hit, given the products have gained popularity in Korea with their innovative features.

“With these three items that have been received well among Korean consumers, Samsung is aiming to expand its market share after showcasing them at the IFA fair,” an official said.

The steam closet will be released in the U.K. first during the October-December period and will hit other European markets in the fourth quarter of 2019.Samsung expects its Air Dresser will become a perfect fit for European consumers because dry cleaning there is quite expensive.

“According to our own survey, European consumers just dry out their garments outside or use fabric deodorizers when they try to deodorize their clothes,” a company spokesperson said. “As they have to pay quite a price for dry cleaning, we expect the Air Dresser will offer them convenience in garment care.”

The Jet cordless vacuum cleaner will be released in the U.K., Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands during the fourth quarter of 2019.

“While the cordless vacuums account for about 80 percent of the entire vacuum cleaner market in Korea, the figure remains at about 40 percent in Europe. We see there will be a huge demand for cordless cleaners,” the spokesperson said.

LG said its front-loading washing machine would be displayed at the IFA exhibition. Featuring AI technology, the product can sense the type of fabrics and offer the optimal washing setting.

“The AI-powered washer can detect the weight of clothes and sense the softness of fabric. After analyzing the information, it offers an optimal washing setting,” an LG official said.

The washer is powered by a direct drive motor directly connected to the drum, reducing energy consumption and noise.

The company says the washing machine can reduce fabric damage by 18 percent compared with other washers.

“According to a recent test conducted by the U.K.-based quality assurance company Intertek, the latest product was found to reduce fabric damage by 18 percent compared to a conventional LG washing machine,” the official said.

The washing machines are sold in eight European countries such as the Netherlands, Switzerland and Finland, and LG plans to expand this to 30 nations by the end of 2019.

LG presents its washing machines with artificial intelligence

The technology called AI DD of LG is responsible for working with about twenty thousand patterns of information that take into account elements such as the hardness or softness of the garments to perform an optimized washing cycle. With the passage of time an improvement of 18% in the wear of the garments is promised.

On the other hand, LG’s TurboWash 360 function is present , which performs a complete washing cycle at a higher speed , getting the clothes to be washed in just 39 minutes, and without neglecting the efficiency in the process. In addition, the “3D Multi Spray” system also helps to clean the clothing in less time by simultaneously firing four jets of water in different directions for a complete removal of stains.

Not everything is work and LG also takes care of the ecology, so this type of creations are part of the “Smart Green” initiative that consists in improving the energy consumption of its products and saving on elements such as water and CO2 emissions compared to any other competitor. Specifically, LG AI DD washing machines offer an energy rating of up to A +++ (standard already appreciated in other models such as LG F4J6TY0W ).

Finally, users who access LG AI DD intelligent washing machines will have support for voice commands from an artificial intelligence speaker such as the LG WK7, in addition to being able to schedule washes or to know the status of the program away from home using the mobile device with the free application SmartThinQ.
