Polti Sani System tested in killing up to 99.999% of microorganisms

Polti Sani System is a patented Steam Disinfection Device (SDD) compliant with the AFNOR NF T72-110 standard – medical setting and has demonstrated virucidal, bactericidal, sporicidal, fungicidal, levurocidal and mouldicidal effects. Developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Pavia, it is dedicated to the disinfection of environments at risk of biological contamination. This product has been tested in killing up to 99.999% of microorganisms.

It is conceived in particular for the disinfection of working enviroments, such as offices, shopping malls, clothing stores, dentists and healthcare practices, hairdressers and beauty salons.

Saturated, dry and superheated steam up to 180 °C acts in a few seconds and is ideal for frequent disinfections throughout the day. Moreover, dispensing does not involve contact with surfaces and there is no need for drying with another implement, because surfaces dry quickly. Polti Sani System can be used several times a day in the presence of people and animals. The steam wraps and disinfects all surfaces, including fabrics and objects, even those with complex geometry.

Haier Growth in Thailand

Encouraged by its high sales growth, he said the company plans to raise its spending budget next year to 850 million baht, up by more than 30% from this year.

The budget will be used largely for marketing, renting a new warehouse for its imported products, and modernising its dealer shops. A new high-end brand called Casarte under the Haier Group will be introduced to Thailand by the middle of next year, said Mr Thanes.

The company also plans to launch 50 new Haier smart home and high-end product lines next year to cater to all generations of consumers. He said Haier Thailand wants to expand its business via online marketing to cover all channels to meet its growth targets, hiring about 300 new staff.

In addition, Haier plans to extend Yudee, a free monthly instalment scheme via its own app, to include refrigerators, washing machines, wine refrigerators and TVs.

Mr Zhenghui said he envisaged opportunities for greater penetration of top-tier and luxury markets to drive sustainable growth, after Thai consumers become accustomed to Haier products connected via the Internet of Things.

“However, the pandemic is not over yet. We have to steer our business carefully with greater resilience and agility, being ready to adjust to changes so our products are distributed and sold as they were in the pre-pandemic days,” he said.

Mr Thanes said the home appliance market is expected to grow by 3-4% to 86 billion baht next year, compared with 0.3% growth this year and a current value estimated at 84 billion baht.

“Consumer spending has gradually improved since the country’s reopening in November,” he said.

“The outbreak of the Omicron variant has not affected consumer purchases of electrical goods so far. However, we have to monitor the situation in the first quarter next year.”

Piyasak Sribua, the company’s sales director, said apart from Haier, the company plans to roll out more products under the Candy Italian electrical appliances brand, managed by a company within the Haier group.

The target market is the younger generation, including university students and Gen Y and Gen Z professionals. Product highlights include Candy water heaters, Candy kitchenware and Candy freezers.

B/S/H/ HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES GMBH BAD NEUSTADT WINNER 2021: Smart & Sustainable

B/S/H/ Hausgeräte GmbH vacuum cleaners are in use in households all over the world: More than 9,000 appliances of different models and colors come off the production line at the Bad Neustadt factory every day, and a total of 2 million are sold worldwide every year.

The company responded to a decline in production volume for its most important product group by automating and digitizing the production of its vacuum cleaner blowers and large multi-component plastic parts. The focus was on using Industry 4.0 technologies to implement flexible, competitive and sustainable production “Made in Germany”.

In the course of the restructuring, horizontal and vertical integration took place across several stations of the value streams: From ordering the raw materials to booking the completion of a vacuum cleaner, many processes were automated and the machines, the transport via Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), and the products themselves were networked with each other. Essential information such as machine and process parameters is recorded and stored by a cloud solution.

Data on event-based information and the status of the autonomously controlled plants is now available at any time. All information can also be visualized quickly and comprehensibly on dashboards according to the user’s needs. However, the plant uses the technologies not only to continuously improve processes, but also to collect data that simplify energy management and, for example, reduce the values for water and heating consumption in the production halls.

The company uses several technologies to provide the information required from the collected data, depending on the application goal and field of use. Smartwatches inform employees about for instance machine settings – and data glasses are used for remote maintenance and training. In addition, a digital twin supports the work of product designers.

All process steps and relevant parameters of the material flow are recorded. This allows, among other things, the cycle times during injection molding to be autonomously adjusted to the downstream production process to ensure a stable quality level. In addition, each product is provided with a QR code via which it can be traced throughout its entire life cycle.

The energy efficiency of production is monitored around the clock and continuously improved. Energy management at the plant follows a holistic approach and uses Industry 4.0 technologies such as the “Siemens PAC”, a sensor that records energy data as for instance the power consumption of the plants.

Significant improvement in overall equipment effectiveness Reduction of manual effort and waste Reduction of energy consumption per unit producedIncrease in the number of product units manufactured per shiftFurther process optimizations through data transparency and data-driven decision making
