XpressFry Technology for Crispy, yet Faster Cooking

One of the standout features of the TasteXpress™ Range Series is the incorporation of Midea’s proprietary XpressFry technology – unique feature designed to enhance cooking speed while maintaining exceptional food quality. The XpressFry system utilizes a powerful air fry function, which distributes heat evenly throughout the oven, ensuring that your meals cook faster and more uniformly than traditional methods. Convection technology further supports even cooking, making your food crisp and perfectly cooked in less time.

This advanced technology is ideal for preparing crispy, golden meals like fries, chicken wings, and roasted vegetables in less time. XpressFry reduces cooking time by evenly wrapping food with rapid heat from every direction, achieving a crispy, perfectly cooked result in a fraction of the time. With the TasteXpress™ Range, home cooks can enjoy restaurant-quality meals without the lengthy wait times typically associated with traditional cooking methods.

MegaMax Capacity for Cooking More at Once

The TasteXpress™ Range Series is designed with the modern home chef in mind. With MegaMax capacity, the series provides an expansive cooking space that allows you to prepare large batches of food all at once. Whether you’re preparing a family-sized meal, hosting a dinner party, or batch cooking for the week, the increased oven capacity ensures that you can cook more, saving time and energy.

With 6.3 cubic feet of space in select models (New electric 5-element FSR, stainless, MER30S5AST), the TasteXpress™ Range Series can accommodate everything from multiple casserole dishes to large roasts and pizzas, making it easier than ever to cook for larger gatherings. The 5-element cooktop in select models further enhances the range’s capacity, providing ample space to cook multiple dishes simultaneously, whether you’re boiling, sautéing, or simmering.

Efficient replacement for traditional home water heate

Midea recently announced the launch of a new highly efficient heat pump water heater that will soon be available in North America, PR Newswire reported.Midea’s new heat pump water heater can produce up to four kilowatts of heat for every kilowatt of power input, the company said. A traditional electric water heater produces up to one kilowatt of heat for every kilowatt of power input.

Heat pump water heaters use electricity to transfer heat from the surrounding air to water inside a storage tank. Because they work by transferring heat around instead of generating new heat, they are much more efficient than traditional heating methods

Midea Group, the world’s largest maker of white goods by sales, is eyeing significant global expansion of its sales network to encompass 40 countries by 2025.

Fresh off raising US$4.6 billion in Hong Kong’s largest initial public offering (IPO) in more than 3 years the Foshan-headquartered company is looking to markets like Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Africa as part of a focus on burgeoning economies with substantial growth potential, according to Lewis Fu, the company’s president of international business.

The company, which gets almost half of its revenue from overseas markets, relies on outside retail operators in some regions. But it plans to expand its global operations and do a “better job” with its own retail network, particularly in emerging markets where the “growth potential is large”.

“Currently, we have our own sales subsidiaries and organisations in about 30 countries worldwide,” Fu said during a press tour on Thursday. “In the future, we will expand to more than 40.Midea has about 44 manufacturing bases worldwide, half of which are outside China, with more manufacturing facilities “under way in the coming years”, Fu said.

Midea to raise at least $3.5 billion in Hong Kong

Midea ‘s IPO has started on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The group’s shares were listed only on the Chinese Shenzen stock exchange, where many investors prefer not to buy. The entry into the Hong Kong stock exchange would put Midea on the same level as other large listed groups: Whirlpool or Electrolux as a group investable in electronics and household appliances. Midea is expected to raise at least $3.5 billion with this share issue. It is the largest IPO in Hong Kong since 2022.
Midea is currently valued at 432 billion yuan, 54 billion euros, nearly 12 times Whirlpool and 24 times Electrolux . The stock has grown 15% over the course of 2024.

Panasonic Adopts China’s Minimalist Approach to Consumer Electronics Design

In an effort to fend off competition from Chinese rivals like Haier Group and the Midea Group, Japan’s Panasonic Corporation is embracing a minimalist design philosophy inspired by China. Masahiro Shinada, President and CEO of Panasonic Corp., emphasized the need to focus on specific product capabilities while eliminating unnecessary features.

Shinada revealed that Panasonic’s Chinese division has already achieved cost savings by adopting this approach. Going forward, the company plans to increase the number of products designed in China and shipped to Southeast Asia. Additionally, Panasonic aims to enhance collaboration among its design teams across China, Japan, and Vietnam, with a focus on creating “shared models” for different Asian markets. By September 2026, approximately half of the products sold in Vietnam and Malaysia are expected to be these shared models, resulting in increased shipments from China.

This strategic shift represents a departure from Panasonic’s traditional emphasis on local manufacturing and sales. As Chinese and South Korean manufacturers optimize production efficiency and global distribution, Panasonic seeks to adapt and remain competitive.

Despite losing ground in the Japanese market for refrigerators and microwaves due to strong sales of Chinese-made models from rivals like Toshiba (which sold its consumer electronics brand to Midea Group in 2016), Panasonic has found success with its minimalist designs. For instance, the compact Solota personal dishwasher, tailored for young individuals living alone, exceeded its 2023 sales target by 40%. With limited functions, Solota efficiently handles up to six pieces of tableware at a time
