Franziska Barnert, global partner manager in the Home Connect team, to shed some light on how consumers can use BSH’s solution in combination with renowned partners for an improved and more connected home.

Improving the quality of life at home is not just about designing and manufacturing high-quality appliances — it is also about keeping up with consumer trends and evolving needs. And what’s trendier than a smarter, connected life? That’s what Home Connect aims to provide: An easy-to-use app that lets consumers connect and control the home appliances from multiple BSH brands to simplify, optimize and personalize their daily household routines. In addition to that Home Connect is offering multiple partner solutions that can be used together with our connected appliances. However, there is more to it than meets the eye

Among the large appliances, consumers can use it for washing machines, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, fridges, fridge-freezers, freezers, wine coolers, cooktops and hoods. So, basically for everything. And with regards to the small appliances, the app supports coffee machines, the Bosch Cookit, and also Roxxter, Bosch’s robot vacuum cleaner. We also want to give the consumers the possibility to use all those appliances with solutions from our partners.

Offering sustainable solutions is a key topic for BSH, and with Home Connect it’s no different. So just to give you an overview of the possibilities They offer consumers: They can, for example, check the estimated water and energy consumption of their selected appliance program directly via our app. Besides that, we are also constantly looking for partners in the smart home and energy segment. For instance, Home Connect recently went live with the smart home player Loxone in Europe, which also offers an energy solution. With their help, appliances can be started when the photovoltaic system produces enough energy.

Sonic Dutch launches new high tech cold brew coffee machine

South Korean coffee machine maker Sonic Dutch has launched a kickstarter campaign for a new cold brew coffee machine that uses innovative sonic wave technology to “produce great-tasting, low caffeine cold brew coffee in five minutes”.

This latest campaign for the Super Sonic H comes after the 2020 launch of the company’s first cold b

rew machine, the Super Sonic S1, and aims to improve on its predecessor with a stronger, lighter and more compact model.

The new model even features a Bluetooth speaker so users can pair their favourite tunes while they drink their beverage, as well as a “sleek, futuristic and elegant” finish, designed to look at home on any modern countertop. A fold-out handle is also included for easy transporting.

Sonic Dutch says its unique brewing method is not only faster, but more hygienic than traditional methods, while also producing a cleaner-tasting and less bitter coffee.

The company adds that the Super Sonic H also produces coffee with less caffeine than espresso or traditional cold brew, but that users who want a stronger caffeine hit will be able to customize the levels of the stimulant by increasing the time setting.

For the maximum amount of caffeine, Sonic Dutch says users would need to have the Super Sonic H run for a longer cycle – up to 30 minutes.

Finally, although the Super Sonic H is primarily designed for brewing cold coffee, that’s not its only use, Sonic Dutch says. According to the brand, the sonic technology can also be used for decanting and then enriching the flavours of wine, and it can be used to make cold brew tea or milk tea.

The device comes in either black or white, with the outline of the speaker available in classic chrome, or elegant rose gold. The internal LED light is available in either white or orange.

It is suitable for home, office, bedroom, bathroom or hotel room, and allows anyone to improve the air quality in place, the Taiwanese company says.

LUFTQI firstly introduced innovative photocatalyst purification technology in 2018 in theLUFTQI purifier and more recently released the LUFT Duo which has met with broad industry acclaim.

Plus, although it’s 1/10th the size of other purifiers in the same category, it is less than half the price.

The air purifier features an anti-bacterial metal mesh. This is a low surface energy material which is easy to clean and replaces traditional consumable filters. It features electro-static dust collection, which produces 20 million ions at all times. This allows for PM2.5/PM10 to be actively trapped in the metal mesh. This novel approach works effectively for droplet infection in epidemic routine, LUFTQI says.

Finally, the filter includes photocatalyst the company’s proprietary photocatalysis nanotechnology, that breaks down and destroys allergic factors like VOCs, bacteria and pollen, LUFTQI claims.
