Hitachi Restructured After Beko in Australia

After the merger of Hitachi into the Beko Australia operation management have moved to restructure the business with the announcement that former Samsung Vice President and of late National Sales Director at Hitachi along with David Anton the Companies supply chain manager are being laid off.

Hitachi whose products are sold at Harvey Norman and Bing Lee is the most profitable side of the Beko operation in Australia with Harvey Norman recently expanding sale of their premium refrigerators to additional stores

Beko new air conditioning

Beko launched its new air conditioners: the BEEPGH model from the EvolutioPro line and the BEHPG model from the Evolutio line, which are characterized by the control panel that becomes completely invisible when it is turned off. The EvolutioPro line is in energy efficiency class A+++ in cooling mode and A++ in heating mode, while the Evolutio line is in energy efficiency class A++ (cooling)/A+ (heating). Furthermore, EvolutioPro is also equipped with the UV-C light cleaning system (HygieneMax UVC) which eliminates pathogenic microorganisms, viruses and mold (that can form inside the split) and at the same time is able to purify the outgoing air from the air conditioner. Besides, the technologies used in the external units allow a wide operating range, with operation at certified performance up to external temperatures of +50° C in cooling mode. This year, the external units with certified heating performance up to temperatures of -20°C will be available.
The new models have connectivity via the HomeWhiz app. As regards to the filters, the BEEPGH air conditioners are equipped with two high-density filters, an activated carbon filter and a cold catalyst filter. In addition, Beko air conditioners feature the Gold Guard treatment, a golden hydrophilic coating, which improves the heating efficiency, accelerating the defrosting process. Currys trading update

Currys shared an updated report on our trading since the busy ‘Peak’ period over the winter months.

Sales have been stronger than the Group’s expectations – and combined with continued strong growth in Services – Group adjusted profit before tax is now expected to be at least £115m.

The update also reflects the end of the offer period in which takeover offers from Elliot Advisors and JD.com could have been made.

Currys to partner with WelcoMe

Currys has become the first tech retailer to partner with WelcoMe, with the aim of improving the shopping experience for customers with disabilities.
The partnership launches in conjunction with Neurodiversity Celebration Week.
A purpose built web app, the aforementioned platform works by allowing shoppers with a disability to register an in-person store visit, online.

Through filling out a quick form indicating any specific disability related needs or information, and an estimated date/time of arrival, stores are then notified of the upcoming visit giving them the opportunity to prepare for and accommodate any specific requirements etc.
The tool also gives retail partners access to pointers and best practice techniques to help accommodate anybody, specific to certain disabilities.
The trial will be piloted across 20 UK Currys stores

Samsung Electronics to launch AI washer-dryer in Korea

Samsung Electronics Co. will launch its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered integrated washer-dryer, Bespoke AI Combo, as early as later this month in Korea.
The Bespoke AI Combo is expected to be launched in Korea first at the end of this month before global release.
In September 2023, Samsung Electronics unveiled a concept model of the all-in-one washer-dryer at the 2023 Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA), one of Europe’s largest home appliance exhibitions. The finalized product, Bespoke AI Combo, was presented at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2024.

The washer-and-dryer streamlines laundry processes and boasts over 40 percent higher space efficiency compared to traditional stacked models.

It also offers an AI custom course that tailors washing and drying settings based on laundry specifics like weight, fabric, and soil level.

Equipped with the digital inverter heat pump from the existing Bespoke AI dryer, it delivers drying performance on par with standalone dryers.

Haier Europe appoints Neil Tunstall as the new CEO

Haier Europe has announced Haier UK and Ireland managing director Neil Tunstall as its new chief executive officer.He succeeds Yannick Fierling who stepped down from the role of Haier Europe CEO.

Neil Tunstall will begin as Haier Europe CEO beginning of April. He will assume leadership of the Europe region, headquartered in Italy and with approximately 10,000 employees, a sales presence in more than 50 countries and 7 manufacturing sites

FAULTY KITCHEN APPLIANCE IS IDENTIFIED AS CAUSE OF DEADLY VALENCIA FIRE IN SPAIN THAT KILLED 10 PEOPLE

FAULTY kitchen appliance caused last month’s Valencia apartment block fire that killed 10 people.

A secrecy order on the court investigation into the blaze in the Campanar district of the city has been lifted, with the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabe, revealing the cause on Monday Bernabe said that the blaze was started by ‘an appliance in the kitchen’ and indicated that it could have been a refrigerator.
