Haier Appliances India has launched its new 959 Direct Motion Motor Fully Automatic Front Load Washing Machines in the country. Haier is dedicated to creating advanced laundry solutions with smart home technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and IoT capabilities, all aligned with its mission ‘Make in India, Made for India.’The 959 Super Drum Series of washing machines by Haier utilizes cutting-edge Direct Motion Motor technology to reduce vibrations and noise, increasing the machine’s durability. These machines are equipped with AI and IoT features, ensuring a seamless laundry experience.
The AI-DBS (Dynamic Balance System) software maintains a stable washing process. Haier addresses space constraints in Indian homes with a slim, redesigned body that fits easily in kitchens, washrooms, or balconies.Integrated Wi-Fi Control allows users to manage the washing machine remotely via a smartphone. Electrolux Group puts the spotlight on resource efficiency with AEG EcoLine
Global appliance company Electrolux Group – under its premium brand AEG – is showcasing, for the first time, its most resource-efficient models at IFA 2023: the AEG EcoLine. AEG EcoLine is a dedicated selection, presented in-store and online, of the company’s most resource efficient appliances covering all major product categories and aimed at helping consumers to reduce climate impact while providing high-quality performance. The sustainable selection of appliances from the current AEG and Electrolux portfolio as well as the new AEG SaphirMatt induction hob with scratch-resistant glass will be revealed at IFA 2023
According to Electrolux Group’s science-based approach and Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), approximately 85% [1] of the global climate impact of an appliance, during its lifespan, is generated when it is in use. Therefore, to help reduce climate impact while providing high-quality performance, all models within AEG EcoLine have been designed to be used effortlessly, at their top efficiency, every day while meeting the brand’s strongest energy label ratings.

Better than the best A rating
The new AEG EcoLine selection covers all the main product categories ensuring it meets the appliances needs of the entire home.
Within laundry, AEG EcoLine will be showing washers which have an energy rating better than the best A rating on the market and with resource saving features such as AutoDose, which saves detergent, and UltraWash which cleans efficiently at 30ºC and saves 30% energy [2].
AEG EcoLine tumble dryers with heat pump technology can save up to 68% more energy versus a traditional tumble dryer [3].
AEG EcoLine ovens retain minerals and vitamins while using up to 20% less energy when cooking with steam [4], and a steam cleaning function saves up to 95% energy versus pyro cleaning [5].
The new AEG 7000 cordless cleaner is made with up to 70% recycled plastic, when using Auto Mode, it can save up to 47% energy and prolong running time [6].
Other appliances included in the AEG EcoLine are hobs, hoods, dishwashers, free-standing cookers and air purifiers

Currys hit by revolt over executive pay
Currys has become the latest company to be hit with a shareholder rebellion over executive pay.At their annual meeting, more than 21 per cent of voters rejected the electronics retailer’s pay scheme for 2022 – which handed chief executive Alex Baldock £2.2 million. Around £1.2 million of this was in the form of bonuses.
Currys said it would speak to shareholders to find out why they objected to the scheme.
Beko concerned about Chinese brands
Beko, the Turkish appliance Company, who is set to take over Hitachi’s consumer appliance business in Australia on October 1, in an effort to gain traction in the affordable premium market, is now concerned that Chinese brands are set to hurt sales of their bottom end Beko brand with management accusing the Chinese of setting up to dump product into the affordable appliance market.Recently Arcelik purchased a majority stake in Whirlpool’s household appliances business with the deal set to centre on Europe, however insiders are tipping that the business could end up with a deal in Australia.
Currently Whirlpool is distributed by the Harvey Norman owned distributor Arisit.
Currys backs guidance despite sales dip
Currys has posted a dip in sales for the 17 weeks ended August 26, but backed its profit guidance for the year.
The electricals retailer saw group like-for-like sales fall 4% during the period, with UK & Ireland sales down 2%.
