Miele creates the world’s first autonomous dishwasher

Miele celebrates its 120th anniversary in 2019 with the launch of the most important range in its history, the Generation 7000, which includes innovative products. Among them, stands out the one that from the company they denominate the first autonomous dishwasher of the world, thanks to the technology AutoDos with PowerDisk that incorporates.

It is a unique system that doses the detergent automatically together with a specific granulated powder detergent for proper operation. The content of a PowerDisk lasts approximately one month, which together with the control and programming through an app, means that the user only has to take charge of loading and unloading the device, and occasionally changing the PowerDisk.

These new dishwashers also offer other advantages such as the optimization of the baskets or the cover tray, and also have the classic two-chamber tank on the door to use any type of detergent. All this has meant that they have already been recognized by the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award 2019.

All models Generation 7000 with AutoDos can be connected in network by wi-fi. In addition, with the Autostart function you can program the dishwasher to start with the desired periodicity.

The G7000 incorporates the M Touch screen, which allows you to operate recessed devices in the same way as a smartphone.

The novelty continues to include the already highlighted features of the Miele dishwasher line, such as the QuickPowerWash program (with a cleaning performance of A in 58 minutes), the AutoOpen function for perfect drying, the LED interior lighting (BrilliantLight) or the Door opening without handle with a light touch (knock2open).

Miele Generation 7000

The Generation 7000 range is the new generation of built-in kitchen appliances, that renew the previous range of the German company. The collection includes ovens, hob units, steam ovens, coffee machines and dishwashers. Generation 7000 features four new design lines and are equipped with smart assistants on board, including a camera in the oven or a system to prevent roasts from becoming too dry. Several machines even pre-empt the user’s next actions. The new range comes under starter’s orders in May 2019.
Looking at the aesthetical choices, Miele proposes PureLine, VitroLine, ArtLine and ContourLine design variants: PureLine offers a modern, contemporary appeal, with its solid handle, low-key stainless-steel trim and a glass front in obsidian black. VitroLine underlines its reserved and integrating style with a handle in appliance colour, and ArtLine with its minimalistic approach dispenses with a classical door handle altogether. The VitroLine and ArtLine design lines with their reduced all-glass fronts are available in graphite grey, brilliant white and obsidian black. In contrast, ContourLine relies heavily on its striking stainless-steel frame.
In terms of functions and technologies, instead, Generation 7000 by Miele offers intuitive operating steps and processes. The intuitive handling is further supported by Miele with MotionReact: when required, Miele appliances are able to pre-empt the user’s next moves and automatically switch on when the user approaches, activating the oven lighting or deactivating the ringtone at the end of a programme.

Miele WKF311 washing machine

WKF 311

WPS SpeedCare washing machine by Miele obtained a very good evaluation in the test with Stiftung Warentest (StiWa), Germany’s consumer watchdog. The model tested has a load capacity of 8 kg, is equipped with the highly efficient PowerWash 2.0 wash process – and achieved a top mark of 1.6. The test covered a total of 15 models with load capacities ranging from 6 to 9 kg. The results have been published in the 11/2018 of the ‘test’ magazine. The Miele washing machine obtained the best result in terms of handling and environmental properties, while in an evaluation of programme cycles, Miele boasted almost throughout the shortest cycles of the models with the best ratings. A further criterion of evaluation was temperature fidelity with respect to the wash temperature, where the German model achieved a ‘Very good’ both in the energy-saving programme and in the 60°C standard cycle. The technology hinted at is Miele’s patented PowerWash 2.0 process. Here, the injection of water is accompanied by short interim spin cycles (Spin & Spray), an approach which achieves fast wetting in combination with low water levels. «This – Michael Endt, laundry care product manager at Miele Germany explains – allows even smaller loads to be washed energy-efficiently.» The WKF 311 is no less than 20% better than the reference value for the an A+++ energy efficiency rating. The ‘SpeedCare’ sub-logo is a reference to the QuickPowerWash programme with which up to 5 kg of laundry are washed in less than 1 hour (wash performance A).

Miele C3 cleaner

In the current vacuum cleaner test by Stiftung Warentest (StiWa), the Complete C3 Red EcoLine from Miele obtained a very good result. The test covered 20 vacuum cleaners with a maximum rated load of 800 W; eleven of these featured a dust bag. Among these, Miele was test winner with an overall mark of 1.9 (test 6/2018).
Although power draw on the Miele model is only 550 W, product testers confirmed that suction performance ‘was good to very good on carpets and hard flooring’. They also noted that Miele product is ‘very quiet on carpeting’. Product handling was also awarded a ‘Good’, along with ‘Suction performance’ and other aspects of importance to users such as the replacement of dust bags and filters as well as carrying and storing the appliance.
«The outcome shows that Miele is seamlessly continuing its success story at StiWa thanks to even more efficient machines» – says Jan-Bernd Rapp, chief product manager at Miele’s German sales subsidiary.
Among models with bags, with respect to environmental properties Miele obtained a mark of 1.1 – thanks above all to its low power consumption (A+ energy efficiency rating), its low sound emissions on carpets and its excellent dust retention capacity. This is partly attributable to the SilenceSystem Plus with its encapsulated motor and sound-optimised floorhead, but is also a result of the interplay between the HyClean dustbag with a useable volume of 3.4 l (largest capacity in test) and the Power Efficiency motor.

Miele’s Reinhard Zinkann Elected CECED President

Members of European appliance association CECED elected Reinhard Zinkann, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor for Miele, to be CECED’s new President. The vote took place during the association’s annual General Assembly.

I will also highlight the household appliance industry’s achievements such as the promotion of energy saving and resource efficiency through the use of modern energy and resource efficient appliances. The household appliance industry is a positive, forward-looking industry that is a force for good within the European Union.”

Outgoing CECED President Fabio De’Longhi, of Italian-based appliance maker De’Longhi, now becomes a CECED vice president.

Miele’s Scout RX1 robotic vacuum cleaner

Miele’s Scout RX1 “sets new standards” in robotic vacuum cleaners Miele’s Scout RX1 robotic vacuum cleaner incorporates a Smart Navigation system that uses the principle of ‘systematic’ navigation but with enhanced electronics and software, which the German brand says makes it a “benchmark” product in terms of navigation capacity.

The system features an integrated gyro sensor that measures and registers the turning movements, with a high-quality digital camera scanning the ceiling of the room several times a minute to ensure precision. The Scout RX1 also benefits from seven infrared sensors that scan 180 degrees in front of the robovac to avoid collisions, and has a further three sensors beneath to avoid falling off steps. It is claimed to have good traction on all common floor coverings is able to negotiate height differences of up to 2cm. The Triple Cleaning System has two long rotating side brushes that target difficult areas along the walls of rooms or furniture items and sweep dirt towards the centre of the unit, where a removable beater bar picks up the coarse particles. In the third cleaning stage, a fan transports the finer dust into a removable dust box with 0.6L capacity. An AirClean filter ensures clean air in the room. http://www.miele.co.uk/
