Coway looking for growth in Europe

Coway, South Korea’s No.1 environmental home appliances company, will participate in Aquatech Amsterdam 2025 from March 11th to 14th in Amsterdam Coway will explore new growth opportunities in the European water purifier market, by forging new partnerships and enhancing its brand awareness. Alongside its highly successful Asian product lineup, Coway is also set to introduce products optimized for European customers and businesses.

A highlight of Coway’s showcase at the exhibition will be the unveiling of the company’s upcoming water purifier, tentatively named ‘SWITCH.’ This eco-friendly model is able to adapt to various kitchen settings thanks to its countertop and under-sink convertibility, and also offers non-electric water purification, making it attractive to a diverse customer base — in particular to environmentally-conscious customers.

Coway will also showcase a variety of high-performance water purifiers that feature both cold-and-hot-water functions and ice-making capabilities, catering to a wide range of diverse customer lifestyles and business needs.

Looking ahead, Coway’s water purifier strategy aims at encompassing both commercial and consumer markets. For businesses, the company is set to introduce large-capacity standing water purifiers ideal for public institutions, businesses, and schools, alongside more compact models for environments short on space. For consumers, Coway will hone in on providing water purifiers that complement the modern smart home by offering such features as temperature control, measured dispensing, and easy self-maintenance for added convenience.

Xeros sign deal

Water cleaning technology business, Xeros Technology Group, says it has signed a letter of intent with a major electronics distributor for an initial order of its XF3 external microfibre plug and go filter.

This will see the product placed into several major retail outlets, initially in the UK under a well-known electronics brand, towards the latter part of 2025

Efficient replacement for traditional home water heate

Midea recently announced the launch of a new highly efficient heat pump water heater that will soon be available in North America, PR Newswire reported.Midea’s new heat pump water heater can produce up to four kilowatts of heat for every kilowatt of power input, the company said. A traditional electric water heater produces up to one kilowatt of heat for every kilowatt of power input.

Heat pump water heaters use electricity to transfer heat from the surrounding air to water inside a storage tank. Because they work by transferring heat around instead of generating new heat, they are much more efficient than traditional heating methods

LG unveils modular ‘Smart Cottage’ homes with AI appliances

LG Electronics launched its “LG Smart Cottage,” a compact modular home featuring integrated artificial intelligence (AI) appliances and advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The company announced on Wednesday that it has opened an official website for Smart Cottage sales, targeting both individual consumers looking for secondary homes near urban or rural areas and corporate or institutional buyers.

The Smart Cottage blends space, appliances, and services into a compact housing solution. It was initially showcased at IFA 2023, Europe’s largest consumer electronics trade show held in Berlin in September 2023 and has since appeared at various domestic and international events.

Inside, the cottage comes equipped with LG’s premium “Objet Collection” appliances, including the WashTower Compact, a dishwasher, induction cooktop, microwave oven, and water purifier. It also features smart home technologies such as a smart door lock, CCTV, motorized blinds, and IoT devices – all of which can be managed through the LG ThinQ app. The cottage can also be upgraded with LG’s upcoming AI Home Hub, “ThinQ ON,” to create a fully connected smart home environment.

During its Annual General Event in Warsaw, EURONICS INTERNATIONAL GEIE, the leading retail group for Technical Consumer Goods (IT, telecom, consumer electronics, and home appliances) in the EMEA region, proudly announced a new co-financing agreement with the EU LIFE Program emanating from the E.U. Directorate General – C.I.N.E.A. (Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency) for the Life EPICS Project.
The LIFE program, established by the European Union in 1992, is a key funding instrument dedicated to environmental and climate action.

John Olsen, C.E.O. of EURONICS International, announced the start of the LIFE EPICS project at the IFA exhibition in Berlin. He discussed with IFA International the 3 main operating pillars of action:
1. Training Activities for Store Managers and Salespeople, with the aim of improving their awareness on sustainable consumption to sell more sustainable products and promote sustainability practices in store management.
2. Repair and ReLIFE, creating specialized corners for the repair and reuse of electrical products, as well as through 3D printing.
3. Development of a Green Sustainability Index for electronic products through an algorithm based on connectivity, repairability, recyclability and energy consumption.
