After a distinguished career and with over two decades at Smeg, Mike Giddings has handed over as Smeg UK & Ireland MD to Daniel Hadley.
With 16 years of experience working for blue chip organisations, Daniel has joined Smeg from Dyson where he led the sales team across the Middle East and Africa. Before his move to the Middle East, Daniel led the UK retail sales team.
Farewell to Roberto Bertazzoni (Smeg)
On March 31, Roberto Bertazzoni died at the age of 81. He had been at the helm of Smeg as president and CEO since the 1970s , now directed by his son Vittorio. Appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro in 1993, Roberto Bertazzoni was the protagonist of the industrial epic that led the Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla founded by Roberto’s father in 1948 to become a multinational with around 2,600 employees and a turnover of 900 million. SMEG launch new blender
Introducing the new SMEG BLC02 high performance blender.
SMEG most advanced blender takes food preparation to professional levels for longer-lasting smoothies, frozen desserts, nut butters and milks. The blender comes with a vacuum pump to prevent oxidation and preserve the nutritional quality of your creations. With increasingly vibrant colours, enhanced flavours and smoother textures too.
The 9-speed, 1400-watt blender operates at a max RPM of 2200 to cope with any recipe and all ingredients. A special Pulse function can also precisely control the duration and frequency of your blending.
Featuring five dedicated programs for superior results, the beautifully designed BLC02 can combine different consistencies and textures with the convenience of an automatic cleaning function after each use.

SMEG Design Europa coffee machine
Smeg received the DesignEuropa Award for its BCC Full Automatic coffee machine. Organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the DesignEuropa awards recognise and reward great products and designers in the field of industrial design. The finalists stood out from almost 700 applicants for setting new standards in design, as well as prioritising sustainability and social impact.
The BCC machine represents a perfect synthesis of Smeg’s vision – the company said – a product with an iconic design that conceals advanced technology. It is the dialogue between technology and design that makes the product empathetic and user-friendly, so that the user can use it at any time of day
BBC by Smeg is an automatic coffee machine with a milk system. It features thermoblock heating system that ensures a faster preparation time for the machine and precise temperature control of the water for coffee extraction; built-in coffee grinder; foam for every drink thanks to the integrated milk system; pump pressure 19 bar for an always correct extraction of the espresso. The machines, available in White, Black and Emerald Green, can prepare 5 coffee drinks, 4 milk drinks and ha the hot water function.
