Hisense Doubles Foreign Revenue to $12.2 Billion in 4 Years

The brand now boasts 36 production bases, 30 research and development centers, and 64 offices outside China.

Hisense’s overseas business revenue is set to surpass $12.2 billion for the fiscal year 2023-2024, doubling the figure from four years ago. This remarkable achievement was announced during the Group’s 55th anniversary celebrations, where the company also outlined its ambitious future plans.

Over the past five years, Hisense has significantly expanded its global footprint and achieved notable technological advancements. Key factors driving this growth include the acquisition of SanDen Corporation and the development of AI-based image quality chips. These initiatives have enabled Hisense to penetrate new markets and enhance its technological capabilities. Consequently, Hisense’s overseas revenue has more than doubled since 2019, and the Group’s total revenue is projected to exceed $28.7 billion in 2023

Gorenje to close components plant

Gorenje, part of China’s Hisense Group, said on Tuesday it is closing the components production plant in Rogatec, eastern Slovenia, as it is no longer competitive.The Gorenje plant in Rogatec, where components for refrigerators and freezers are manufactured, will be closed at the end of August 2025, and production will be greatly reduced at the end of this year,” Mateja Celin, a corporate communications officer with Gorenje, said in a statement to SeeNews.

The production of refrigerators and freezers, the components for which are made in Rogatec, has been taking place in Valjevo in Serbia for years now, Celin explained.

Hisense’s new smart built-in dishwasher

Hisense launch new dishwasher at CES .The smart built-in dishwasher is equipped with the Autodose & Autodry functions. Hisense has invested 45 million euros in a new factory

Hisense has invested 45 million euros in a new factory for the production of cutting-edge refrigeration appliances in Valjevo. In the new Valjevo 3 factory They will manufacture side-by-side refrigerators under the Hisense, Gorenje, and Asko brands, primarily for export to demanding European markets.   The opening ceremony that marked the completion of the construction and the official opening of the factory was attended by the Serbian Prime Minister Ms Ana Brnabić who said she was extremely grateful to Hisense for showing great respect and trust in the country and its people by investing and creating over 3000 jobs in Valjevo, Serbia. “This factory represents our unwavering commitment to this community, country, and the European market,” added Hisense Europe CEO Hanson Han.Gorenje has been successfully operating in Valjevo for 17 years. The opening of our new factory signifies the employment of an additional 1,000 workers over the next three years. The factory is situated next to the existing one on a 45,000 m² site, housing a modern production hall covering 30,000 m², warehouses, and a modern cafeteria for employees. The planned production in the new factory will reach 750,000 side-by-side appliances annually, contributing to a total production of 1.7 million appliances per year across all three Gorenje Valjevo facilities by 2025. These state-of-the-art refrigerators appliances from Valjevo will find their place in homes throughout Europe, serving all European markets that Hisense is currently present on.

Beko concerned about Chinese brands

Beko, the Turkish appliance Company, who is set to take over Hitachi’s consumer appliance business in Australia on October 1, in an effort to gain traction in the affordable premium market, is now concerned that Chinese brands are set to hurt sales of their bottom end Beko brand with management accusing the Chinese of setting up to dump product into the affordable appliance market.Recently Arcelik purchased a majority stake in Whirlpool’s household appliances business with the deal set to centre on Europe, however insiders are tipping that the business could end up with a deal in Australia.
