The new Simplicity Collection is the embodiment of Gorenje’s Life Simplified motto of having less to consider, fewer buttons to click, less time spent, and peace of mind.

Hisense, Gorenje and ASKO
IFA 2019 officially kicked off in Berlin. Hisense Group, the world’s leading home appliance enterprise, presented in an unprecedented scale with three major brands: Hisense, Gorenje and ASKO, and they became the focus of the exhibition.
The technology-leading Hisense Laser TV, well designed Gorenje refrigerator with high-tech applications, and high-end ASKO kitchen appliances are on display at the exhibition. The innovative products of the three brands make Hisense one of the home appliance providers with the most complete categories.

Hisense’s outstanding performance in the European markets has always attracted much attention. Since 2006, Hisense has put forward the strategy of “brand globalization” and maintained a rapid development trend, with a compound annual growth rate of over 20%. The European market is a key area for Hisense’s strategic internationalization layout. After more than ten years of development, Hisense has formed a sales network centered on the German market and expanding to Spain, Italy, the UK, France and other markets. Hisense has also built its Europe R&D center and production base in order to localize products. From January to July 2019, the sales volume of Hisense brand in the European market increased by 19.4% YoY, and the growth in key markets such as Germany and the United Kingdom exceeded 20%.
Meanwhile, Hisense also accelerated its entry into the European market through mergers and acquisitions. In August 2018, Hisense officially completed the acquisition of European appliance giant Gorenje. With a high brand awareness, Gorenje is one of the leading manufacturers of high quality home appliances in Europe. Gorenje owns high-end brands such as ATAG and ASKO, and it has a production base in Europe. With Gorenje, Hisense has established full-scale products and a complete system containing research, production and sales, which accelerated its market development process.
Hisense’s brand awareness has increased significantly in Europe by sponsoring UEFA EURO 2016™ and 2018 FIFA World Cup™. Once again, Hisense is the official partner of UEFA EURO 2020™. As the competition approaches, Hisense is expected to show even stronger growth in Europe.
Gorenje create 100 new jobs in the coming weeks to meet higher demand,
Gorenje, owned by Chinese electronics firm Hisense, will create 100 new jobs in the coming weeks to meet higher demand, the Slovenian appliance maker told Reuters on Friday.
“Demand from all over the world is higher than we expected, especially for washing machines and dryers, so we plan to hire 100 new workers as soon as possible,” spokesman Denis Ostir said.
In April Gorenje said that it would cut some 270 jobs to streamline management and reduce costs after it was taken over by Hisense last year.

Gorenje to make 270 redundancies as it reorganises after Hisense takeover
By bne IntelliNews April 28, 2019
Slovenian household appliances manufacturer Gorenje announced it plans to lay off 270 workers out of the current 4,212 employees as part of its reorganisation and business optimisation process.
Gorenje selected China’s Hisense Electric Co as its strategic partner in May last year as it sought a partner that would support its long-term and sustainable growth and development. Hisense went on to acquire the Slovenian white goods manufacturer.
Following the takeover, Gorenje has embarked on the restructuring that is expected to see 6% of its workforce laid off.
“In early March, Gorenje was transformed from a joint stock company into a limited liability company, in order to simplify its corporate governance and pave the way for more efficient management and decision-making within the group that will thus be better positioned to respond promptly to the challenges and changes in a demanding business environment, to reap the synergies with Hisense, and to cut its operating expenses,” Gorenje said.
The appliance maker added that business transformation will be the priority task in all fields of its operations in the months ahead. Consequently, in April Gorenje started the procedures for reorganising the business processes at the level of the entire group, which also includes new organisation and job systematisation at the parent company.
“As a result of business transformation and restructuring, merging of functions, decreasing the number of management levels, and business optimisation, the number of employees at support services in the Group will be decreased,” said the statement.

Gorenje WaveActive
Two significant recognition were assigned to Gorenje for its WaveActive washing machine and dryer. These products won a Plus X Award 2018/2019 and excel in German consumer tests.
The Plus X Award is given companies for innovation and brand excellence. The same range was also tested in the January issue of the German consumer magazine ETM Testmagazin, specializing in independent product testing. In the detailed test and evaluation, both appliances exceeded the score of 90%, and the ETM Testmagazin therefore recommends them to consumers as economical and, owing to the use of new ionization technologies, highly efficient appliances.
Gorenje WaveActive dryer with an 8-kg load scored 92.9% and the grade “very good” (“sehr gut”), which is the highest grade an appliance can win in such tests. Among the reasons of this grade, the expert panel underline the precision manufacturing, stability, simple controls and maintenance, advanced programs, and remarkable drying efficiency paired with the A+++ energy efficiency rating. The testers singled out the IonRefresh program that uses ions to efficiently eliminate odours from the laundry to refresh it without washing. The ETM Magazin also tested the washing machine of the new Gorenje WaveActive generation, with an 8-kg load capacity, launched in the markets in last April. The washing machines strengths highlighted in the test include the EcoCare functions that allow additional savings of energy and water with every program, TimeCare that offers a faster wash, and DoseAid that recommends the optimum amount of detergent based on the selected washing settings.

Gorenje & Hisense @ CES
During the latest edition of CES, recently held in Las Vegas, Gorenje Group participated for the first time, appearing under the auspices of the Hisense Group. The brand central new feature that is already a result of Gorenje’s successful integration into the Hisense Group, is the new ConnectLife platform that will allow communication between connectible products by all Hisense Group companies. At the exhibition, Gorenje Group presented its connectible major domestic appliances made in Slovenia, under its new owner, the Hisense Group. Among them, there are connectible ovens, dishwashers, washing machines and refrigerators that can communicate through the innovative ConnectLife platform both among them and with other Hisense Group appliances and devices. It namely includes advanced digital services and solutions suitable for new connected and non-connected Hisense Group appliances from all product categories. Thus, Gorenje and Hisense presented at the CES tradeshow the first results of combining their experience and integrating the two companies’ know-how, while collaboration on new product development is resulting in an all-around offer of products for the smart home. The ConnectLife platform is also integrated with Gorenje Group’s digital assistants, as well as services and products offered by third-party partners. It is also connected with digital personal assistants such as Alexa, Google, Siri etc. Gorenje will launch the ConnectLife platform and its line of connected appliances in the markets in this year.
