Arçelik, the consumer durables and electronics manufacturer is expanding its brand southern Africa by adding Beko, a freestanding home appliances name to its local portfolio.
Beko is available in 20 African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, and Mauritius.
Arçelik which holds brands Defy, Grundig and Beko under its umbrella has launched Beko in South Africa at stand-alone stores in Johannesburg and Durban.
In South Africa, Arçelik currently employs more than 2700 staff with two manufacturing facilities, and is the largest manufacturer of major domestic appliances in sub-Saharan Africa.

AO’s newest facility gives returned appliances a new lease of life
AO announces today that it has opened a new ‘rework’ facility to give returned appliances a new lease of life.
Operating out of its ‘Latchford’ warehouse in Crewe, appliances returned by customers will be thoroughly tested with the aim of reselling them.
Since opening last month, the facility is currently handling approximately 900 appliances a week, including washing machines, fridges and TVs from a range of well-known manufacturers, that if not reworked may have ended up never being used.
Once safety tested, cleaned and repackaged, the appliances are sold for a reduced price on the AO Outlet Ebay shop, available for delivery across the UK.

LG Electronics opens 1st premium shop in Latin America
LG Electronics In, a major home appliance maker in South Korea, said Friday it has opened its first premium shop in Latin America in a move to further boost sales in the region.
LG Brand Shop for the South and Central American region is in Panama City, Panama, with a size of 470 square meters. Consumers can experience LG’s luxury home appliance brand, LG SIGNATURE, as well as its artificial intelligence and Internet of Things solutions.
The company said it has also opened an online shop for Latin American consumers so that they can easily purchase products amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
LG said its premium brand shop in Panama will serve as a stepping stone for the company to promote its brand and that it will launch marketing programs dedicated to consumers in the region to better boost its presence.
LG currently runs some 1,400 premium stores
Homebase to partner with premium appliance manufacturer Miele
Homebase continues to strengthen its range of kitchen appliances as it announces a new partnership with Miele.
Miele ovens, hobs, extraction, refrigeration, dishwashers and laundry products will be available for customers to purchase online and in showrooms from 15 December 2020. The Miele range of appliances will be on display in 15 stores around the country,
