Changhong Meiling is stepping up its presence in laundry and dishwashing with a planned RMB 79.8 million investment in a new dryer and dishwasher project.

The Chinese appliance manufacturer and its subsidiary, Hefei Industrial, will jointly fund the project, following approval by Changhong Meiling’s Board of Directors on September 9.

The investment was approved at the 35th meeting of the company’s 11th Board of Directors and does not require shareholder approval.

The project will now move through the necessary administrative procedures, including project establishment filing and environmental impact assessment. These approvals will be required from the relevant government authorities before construction can proceed.

The investment highlights Changhong Meiling’s continued expansion beyond its core appliance categories, with dryers and dishwashers among the key growth areas in the wider white goods market.
