Miele is positioning intelligent automation as the next major step in home appliances, unveiling a new generation of AI-enabled kitchen and laundry products at IFA 2026 in Berlin.

At its IFA 2026 press conference, Miele outlined its vision of appliances that do more than perform individual tasks – they increasingly make everyday decisions for consumers.

The German manufacturer, which has been developing household appliances for 127 years, showcased a range of technologies designed to make cooking, washing dishes and laundry more automated.

At the centre of the dishwasher launch is the G8 Diamond, Miele’s flagship model in its new dishwasher generation. An integrated camera and AI technology recognise the load and automatically adjust the washing process. The machine can also dispense detergent automatically and uses a new hot-air drying system to deliver clean and dry dishes.

In the kitchen, Miele introduced CulinaryCoach, which combines the company’s recipe and appliance knowledge to provide personalised cooking recommendations. The technology can send the appropriate cooking settings directly to a compatible Miele oven.

Miele also presented its new W2 and T2 laundry generation, bringing greater automation to washing and drying. Features including automatic detergent dispensing and programmes that adapt to different load sizes are designed to reduce the number of decisions consumers need to make.

Looking further ahead, Miele showcased Cary, its vision for the future of laundry care. The concept uses recognition technology to identify laundry and automatically adapt the washing process – with the ultimate aim being a simple consumer experience: load the machine, press start and walk away.

Miele said the different innovations share a common objective: increasing technological sophistication while making household routines simpler for consumers.

The company’s IFA 2026 strategy highlights the growing importance of AI, automation and intelligent decision-making as appliance manufacturers look beyond traditional product features to deliver more personalised and effortless home care.
