White goods buyers and manufacturers are watching copper markets closely. Recent price movements point to higher costs for induction hobs and other home appliances heading into the final quarter of 2026 and early 2027.

• Average August copper price: RMB 108,371 per ton
• Month-on-month increase: 3.7%
• Year-on-year increase: 37.0%
• Enameled copper wire reference price: approximately RMB 114,750 per ton

These figures are not abstract. For a typical four-zone induction hob that contains roughly 1.2–1.5 kg of copper, the copper-related material cost alone has risen by about RMB 35–44 compared with the same period last year.

That increase covers only the copper content. It does not yet factor in higher prices for coil plates, magnetic strips, insulation materials, NTC sensors, terminals, winding labour, or supplier margins. At the same time, quotations for chips and electronic control components are also under upward pressure.

Taken together, these cost drivers are likely to push selling prices higher for induction hobs and a range of other home appliances in Q4 2026.

Raw-material volatility has moved beyond a pure manufacturing concern. It is now a clear purchasing risk. Manufacturers that secure materials early will be better positioned to limit price increases; those that wait may have fewer options.

If you have purchasing plans for Q4 2026 or early 2027, the practical advice is straightforward: confirm specifications, volume forecasts and orders before the end of September. Earlier commitment gives producers a better chance to lock in raw materials and offer more competitive pricing.

In short, the copper market is flashing a warning light. Acting on it now is the most effective way to manage the cost impact that appears to be coming.
