LG Electronics maintained home appliance revenue above KRW 7 trillion for the second consecutive quarter in Q3 2026, although operating profit came under pressure.
The company’s Home Appliance Solution division reported revenue of KRW 7.04 trillion and operating profit of KRW 259.2 billion. Higher logistics and marketing costs contributed to the pressure on profitability.
A brighter spot was LG’s subscription business, which recorded revenue of KRW 760 billion across the group, an increase of 8.6% year on year. The model combines appliance subscriptions with maintenance and after-sales services, providing a growing source of recurring income.
LG plans to continue expanding its subscription operations, B2B sales and direct online channels as it looks to reduce its reliance on traditional one-off appliance sales.
However, the company expects the recovery in home appliance demand to remain limited during the fourth quarter, with growth opportunities increasingly focused on markets in the Global South.
Trade implications: LG’s results highlight the growing importance of recurring service revenue and alternative sales channels as manufacturers face subdued appliance demand and continuing pressure on margins.
