LG Electronics grows Q3 revenue 8.9% as appliance margins come under pressure

LG Electronics reported strong revenue growth in the third quarter of 2026, although its home appliance division faced increased cost pressures.

The South Korean group recorded consolidated revenue of KRW 23.82 trillion, up 8.9% year on year, while operating profit increased 13.5% to KRW 781.9 billion.

Its Home Appliance Solution division generated revenue of KRW 7.04 trillion, an increase of 7%, marking a second consecutive quarter above KRW 7 trillion. However, operating profit fell to KRW 259.2 billion from KRW 365 billion a year earlier, with the operating margin declining from 5.5% to 3.7%.

LG attributed sales growth to its dual-track strategy covering premium and volume products, alongside expansion in emerging markets, online sales, B2B and subscription services. Higher logistics and marketing costs continued to weigh on profitability.

For the appliance trade, the results highlight the challenge of converting sales growth into stronger margins. LG expects appliance market demand to remain subdued in the fourth quarter and plans to focus on markets across the Global South to support further growth.
