Whirlpool Corporation has reported weaker third-quarter results, with falling sales and rising costs putting further pressure on profitability.
The US appliance manufacturer recorded net sales of approximately $3.68 billion, down 8.8% year on year, and an adjusted loss of $0.21 per share. Its ongoing EBIT margin fell to 2.6%, from 4.5% a year earlier.
North American appliance sales declined by 8.3%, while Latin America delivered growth of 6.9%.
Whirlpool has lowered its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to around $14.5 billion and now expects a loss of $1.30 per share. Weak consumer demand, higher costs and ongoing competitive pressures continue to challenge the business.
The company is responding with cost-reduction measures and planned price increases of 7% in the fourth quarter.
Trade implications: Whirlpool’s results highlight the pressure facing appliance manufacturers from subdued demand and rising operating costs, with pricing, margins and cost control remaining key priorities for the industry.
