ASKO Wins Gold at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards for Laundry Innovation

Scandinavian appliance brand ASKO has received top design honours for its Style+ Laundry Series, alongside further recognition for its Celsius Craft Frame Built-in Oven Series.

ASKO has strengthened its reputation for premium appliance design after securing a Gold Award at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards for its Style+ Laundry Series. The brand also received a Good Design Award for its Celsius Craft Frame Built-in Oven Series, highlighting its continued focus on combining innovation, functionality and contemporary aesthetics.

The awards recognise products that go beyond appearance, demonstrating how thoughtful design can improve everyday experiences in the home.

Style+ Laundry Series takes Gold

The ASKO Style+ Laundry Series was recognised in the Product Design – Domestic Appliances category, with the judging panel highlighting its integration of mechanical innovation, material quality and user-focused design.

One of the series’ standout features is ASKO’s Steel Seal™ technology, which eliminates the traditional rubber door seal. The design also incorporates considered storage solutions, intuitive usability and an approach that allows the appliances to integrate neatly with surrounding cabinetry.

For the white goods sector, these features reflect a growing emphasis on appliances that deliver practical performance while complementing the wider home environment.

A new approach to built-in cooking

ASKO’s Celsius Craft Frame Built-in Oven Series also received recognition at the awards.

The series brings together steam, microwave and conventional cooking functions within a cohesive design. Judges praised its seamless metal frame, intuitive interface and carefully engineered features, including precise temperature control and a steam reduction system designed to support safety and ease of use.

By bringing multiple cooking capabilities together within a consistent architectural design, the series demonstrates how manufacturers are looking to combine versatility with a more integrated kitchen aesthetic.

Design that delivers more than good looks

The 2026 Australian Good Design Awards were presented under the theme Design that Leads, highlighting the role of design in addressing complex challenges and creating positive impact.

Entries are assessed by an independent jury of more than 100 Australian and international design experts against three criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.

For appliance manufacturers, this approach reflects the importance of looking beyond surface styling. Usability, engineering, functionality and the overall consumer experience are all central to creating products that meet the needs of modern households.

Scandinavian design meets everyday living

ASKO’s latest awards success reinforces its stated design philosophy of making everyday life simpler through considered engineering, intuitive operation and refined aesthetics.

As kitchens and utility spaces increasingly form part of a home’s overall design, appliances need to balance performance with visual integration and ease of use. Recognition for both the Style+ Laundry Series and Celsius Craft Frame Built-in Oven Series demonstrates how these priorities can influence product development across different appliance categories.

For the white goods industry, the message is clear: successful product design is about more than appearance. It is about bringing together purposeful innovation, practical functionality and thoughtful details that make appliances work better for the people who use them.
