Ex-Dyson India MD Ankit Jain Launches Foundry

Ankit Jain, the former Managing Director of Dyson India, has launched Foundry, a consumer technology company building premium home appliances on proprietary, patent-pending technology. The company has raised ₹12 crore in pre-seed equity funding.

Who’s backing it

The round was led by BEENEXT and Kettleborough VC. Angel investors also took part, including Rishubh Satiya of Plix, Anindita Sampath of Yogabar and Anita Pramoda of Owned Outcomes. Anirudh Garg, Partner at BEENEXT, said the time for premium home appliances in India has arrived.

What Foundry is building

Foundry’s first products will be kitchen appliances, with expansion into other categories planned later. The company says it wants to rethink appliance design and engineering, moving away from standalone machines built for a single function. Reports describe a focus on premium, connected devices that combine proprietary technology with industrial design and materials suited to modern homes.

The funding will go toward developing the core technology and engineering the first product range, which is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2027.

The founder’s background

Jain spent nine years at Dyson, working across India, Hong Kong, the Middle East and Africa. He joined in 2017 and became MD of Dyson India in 2021. In 2025 he took charge of the Middle East and Africa operations. Before Dyson, he worked at Nestlé India, Walmart and 21st Century Fox.

Why it matters

Premium appliances are a growing segment in India, and Dyson has helped shape it. Foundry is a new domestic entrant aiming at that space. With launch still about a year away, the key questions are what Foundry’s first kitchen products will be and how it will price them against established global brands.
