Fisher & Paykel Appliances, part of Haier Smart Home, has officially opened its new global headquarters and innovation campus in Auckland, New Zealand.
Located on a 22,779 m² site in Penrose—where the brand was founded in 1934—the campus serves as the global base for Fisher & Paykel and Haier Australasia. It houses research, industrial design, engineering, digital product development, testing, and green energy work.
Around 800 staff (about 25% of the company’s workforce) will work on site, with room to grow. The centrepiece is an 11,500 m² three-level mass-timber “groundscraper” designed by RTA Studio. The building forms a continuous loop around a regenerated wetland and is one of New Zealand’s largest mass-timber structures. It features 1,159 solar panels expected to cover the building’s annual energy needs.
The campus strengthens Haier’s global innovation network and supports Fisher & Paykel’s focus on premium kitchen and laundry appliances for high-end homes worldwide.
