LG Brings Korean Food and Fashion to Life with Innovative Home Appliance Technology in Hong Kong

LG showcases how smart refrigeration, cooking and garment-care appliances are becoming part of the modern lifestyle experience.

Home appliances are increasingly about more than simply completing everyday household tasks. From keeping premium ingredients fresh to caring for delicate clothing, manufacturers are finding new ways to demonstrate how technology can enhance the way consumers live.

LG Electronics has brought this idea to life in Hong Kong, showcasing its latest home appliance technologies through two major cultural events celebrating Korean food and fashion.

During September 2026, LG participated in the Mid-Autumn K-Festival Week and CENTRESTAGE 2026, demonstrating how its kitchen and garment-care appliances can complement modern lifestyles.

Bringing the Korean Home Experience to Hong Kong

At the Mid-Autumn K-Festival Week, held at Central Market and co-presented by the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, LG created an interactive experience called ‘Housewarming by LG’.

Rather than presenting appliances in a traditional showroom environment, the company recreated elements of a contemporary Korean home, allowing visitors to explore how its products could fit into everyday domestic life.

Among the appliances on display were the LG InstaView refrigerator and LG Styler, highlighting two important areas of modern home living: food storage and clothing care.

The approach reflects a wider trend within the domestic appliance sector, where product demonstrations increasingly focus on practical lifestyle benefits alongside technical specifications.

Keeping Ingredients Fresh with LG InstaView

One of the main attractions was a live cooking demonstration featuring acclaimed Korean chef Park Joon-woo.

Using LG’s 349-litre InstaView Bottom Freezer Refrigerator alongside its new 32-litre Multifunctional Microwave Steam Oven, the chef prepared contemporary Korean dishes, including Hanwoo beef with galbijjim sauce and grilled Korean pork belly.

The demonstration highlighted the importance of ingredient storage and temperature management when preparing quality meals.

LG’s InstaView refrigerator incorporates its signature Knock Twice feature, allowing users to illuminate the interior by knocking twice on the glass panel without opening the door.

The appliance also features LinearCooling and DoorCooling+ technologies, designed to help maintain consistent temperatures and distribute cool air throughout the refrigerator.

For consumers, these features demonstrate how refrigeration technology can play an important role in everyday food management, particularly when storing fresh and premium ingredients.

The cooking demonstration also provided an opportunity to showcase how microwave steam cooking technology can support contemporary food preparation.

LG Styler Takes Centre Stage in Korean Fashion

LG’s Hong Kong activities extended beyond the kitchen, with the company also demonstrating its garment-care technology at CENTRESTAGE 2026, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Working alongside Korean fashion designer Antonio Shin and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), LG explored the relationship between fashion, fabric care and appliance technology.

Shin’s latest collection featured premium rayon and natural fibres, materials that require careful handling to help preserve their texture, drape and overall appearance.

LG showcased its Styler garment-care system, demonstrating how steam technology can help refresh delicate clothing.

The collaboration highlighted an increasingly important area of the laundry and garment-care market: appliances designed to complement traditional washing and drying by providing additional clothing-care options.

As consumers invest in different types of clothing and fabrics, manufacturers are developing solutions that address a wider range of garment-care requirements.

Home Appliances Become Part of the Lifestyle Conversation

LG’s involvement in the two Hong Kong events illustrates how major appliance manufacturers are looking beyond conventional product demonstrations.

By connecting refrigeration and cooking technology with Korean food culture, and garment-care appliances with fashion, LG presented its products in settings that consumers could relate to.

It also highlights the expanding role of the home appliance industry in areas such as convenience, food preservation, fabric care and modern home living.

For retailers and manufacturers, this type of experiential marketing provides an opportunity to communicate product benefits in a more engaging way, helping consumers understand not only what an appliance does, but how it could fit into their daily routines.

The Bigger Picture for the White Goods Industry

The white goods market continues to evolve as manufacturers look for ways to differentiate their products beyond traditional performance and capacity specifications.

Refrigeration, cooking and laundry appliances are increasingly being presented as connected parts of a broader lifestyle proposition.

LG’s Hong Kong showcase provides an interesting example of how this strategy can work, using food and fashion to demonstrate the practical applications of its appliance technologies.

As the industry continues to develop, the ability to combine product innovation with meaningful consumer experiences is likely to remain an important part of how appliance brands communicate their latest developments.
