The EGO-Group (EGO) will once again offer gas products under the DEFENDI product brand in the future. In 2013, the gas business was added to the BLANC & FISCHER Group through the acquisition of the DEFENDI Group. To better exploit synergies, the successful and innovative gas solutions of the former sister company DEFENDI were integrated into the product portfolio of EGO in 2020 and marketed under the EGO brand. On January 1, 2021, the site in Camerano officially became part of the EGO-Group: “Defendi Italy Srl” became “EGO Italia Srl”. EGO has decided that, starting from June 2025 it will once again offer its innovative gas solutions under the DEFENDI product brand โ to strengthen its go-to-market approach as part of its growth strategy in the gas business. โThe switch to the DEFENDI product brand will not involve any process or data changes for our business partners,โ assures Karlheinz Hรถrsting Dr. , CEO of the EGO-Group. DEFENDI is a pure product brand of the EGO-Group. EGO remains the business and contractual partner. Camerano remains a site of the EGO-Group and will continue to operate under the name EGO Italia Srl.

E.G.O Wireless Power Consortium

One idea is the wireless operation of small kitchen appliances, called Ki, in the definition and design of which E.G.O. is playing a major role through the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). The wireless power supply standard Ki makes practically all types of small kitchen appliances wireless and intelligent. With Ki, up to 2200 watts can be transmitted, enough to supply power to all common small kitchen appliances, for example coffee machines, toasters, blenders, rice cookers, air fryers, and much more.
Ki power transmission devices will initially be integrated into induction cooking hobs with a dual function. Thanks to E.G.O. technology, cooking and operating cordless small appliances would be possible on the same cooking surface.

This is where Karl Fischer founded the Schwarzwรคlder Zangenkontakt Werkstรคtte in 1925 and started manufacturing electrical connecting parts in a small workshop. In 1927, he renamed the company Elektro-Gerรคtebau GmbH Oberweiler, before joining Heinrich Blanc in Oberderdingen in 1931. Over the course of 100 years, EGO has developed into a business group with a worldwide reputation and is the partner of first choice for the global appliance industry

The new Mexican E.G.O. site E.G.O. Componentes Electrรณnicos S.A. de C.V. in Parque Industrial Amexhe (E.G.O. Mexico), the team has good reason to celebrate: the first EGO radiant heating element successfully left the production line. Congratulations to everyone involved for this achievement!
As part of the realignment, E.G.O. Mexico is producing EGO radiant heating elements in addition to electronic products. At the previous site in Querรฉtaro, there was no possibility of increasing the production area.
