Midea Group Showcases “Smart Core, Green Home” at 140th Canton Fair

AI-powered appliances, extreme-climate performance and whole-home energy solutions take centre stage as the Chinese giant targets global buyers

The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened in Guangzhou on 15 October 2026. Midea Group returned under the theme “Smart Core, Green Home”, presenting a full business matrix that moves well beyond individual appliances toward integrated smart air, energy and water systems for homes and buildings worldwide.

Smart Core: Putting AI into the “brain” of home appliances

Midea’s residential air-conditioning range led the smart push. New models combine AI algorithms with inverter technology so that airflow actively follows people around the room. Upgraded millimetre-wave radar sensing and the AI whole-area temperature-control M-Station system continuously monitor temperature, humidity, occupancy and air quality, then automatically select the optimal airflow mode. The company claims this delivers 30–50 % energy savings without sacrificing comfort.

The product line-up spans extreme climates and everyday needs:

– EVEREST series: cooling in 70 °C heat and heating in –40 °C cold
– DAINTY series: compact, lightweight units optimised for shipping volume and weight
– GEMINI: high-capacity cooling
– EMBRACE: wide-area airflow

All models use lower-GWP refrigerants (R290 or R454B) and Midea’s proprietary AI energy-saving algorithms, which the company says can cut real-world energy use by up to 50 %. A new indoor hybrid heat pump (CirQ HP Indoor Hybrid) aimed at European homes also made its debut.

On the refrigeration side, Midea demonstrated a complete cold-chain approach — from outdoor and commercial units through to domestic refrigerators. Large-capacity models with fine zoning suit households that shop weekly; built-in ranges sit flush with cabinets; compact freezers serve outdoor and hunting use; and commercial display cases target retail. Wine coolers and ice makers were grouped into a complete “drink” scene for bar areas.

Small appliances and cleaning products rounded out the smart-home offering, including quieter pressure cookers, high-performance air fryers, automatic coffee machines, pet air purifiers, washers with adaptive arms, and thin-bodied floor cleaners that can reach under furniture.

Green Home: Low-carbon design that also looks good

Midea’s cooking and laundry ranges emphasised both efficiency and seamless kitchen integration.

The G2P built-in oven reaches target temperature in 0.2 seconds thanks to 350 °C graphene rapid-heating technology. An integrated Pizzaz pizza stone recreates traditional brick-oven bottom heat, producing Neapolitan-style pizza in three minutes. The 81-litre, four-shelf cavity can cook a full meal at once while meeting A++ energy standards. A nearly invisible 3 mm door gap and pyrolytic-plus-steam cleaning keep the unit looking built-in and easy to maintain.

Dishwashers in the KWHA E5PM series free up extra interior space through a revised chassis design and reach EU A-20 % efficiency. Heat-pump drying technology (Tri-Green Apex) shares the same system for washing and drying, with cycle times from 30 to 150 minutes.

Laundry focused on true flush installation. The FRESCO pure-flat built-in range sits virtually seamless with cabinetry. The Fresco 23 washer-dryer set features a 9.8-inch full-touchscreen, 15-minute quick wash, 20 °C cold-water options and automatic detergent dosing, achieving new European A-50 % efficiency. Heat-pump dryers and all-in-one units complete the line-up.

From buildings to homes: Energy and cooling infrastructure

Beyond the home, Midea highlighted data-centre liquid-cooling solutions that can bring average annual PUE down to 1.2. Core CDU units deliver 2.6 MW of cooling capacity (expandable to 4 MW) with hot-swappable maintenance, dual filtration and dual power supply.

Energy-storage thermal management covers both power-conversion systems and large battery installations, with side-discharge units rated 30–70 kW that tolerate high altitude and high-salt environments. For residential use, the company showed the PowerNexus all-in-one home storage unit, Omni X split storage system and iEasyEnergy smart energy platform. The latter coordinates solar, storage, charging and heating so households can monitor and optimise energy use via a single app, with claimed self-sufficiency rates of up to 90 %.

Looking ahead

Midea used the 140th Canton Fair to underline its shift from category-leading single products to complete smart and green system solutions. With AI at the core and low-carbon performance as the outward promise, the company is positioning its technologies to serve both everyday households and the growing demands of global infrastructure.
