Miele Professional has appointed commercial laundry equipment supplier, WASHCO, as the sole distributor in the UK of their new economical laundry equipment.

The latest partnership between WASHCO and Miele will see the new 9kg PW 5082 XL washing machine and PT 5186 XL dryer distributed exclusively through WASHCO.

Retail fridge firm Novum invests €8m in Irish plant to build ‘zero global-warming’ units

Irish refrigeration giant is set to double production at its Clonshaugh facility Irish retail refrigeration company has invested €8m in increasing its manufacturing capacity in Dublin, having brought back some assembly functions to Ireland to further protect its supply chain.

Novum, based in Clonshaugh near Dublin Airport, supplies sustainable fridges to several international retailers including British chain Iceland and French giant Picard. It recently signed up Dunnes Stores as a major Irish customer.

The company was set up 62 years ago to make sewing machines, before moving into washing machines and later focusing solely on fridges.Sales are up 30pc on last year and the company is talking to major retailers in Europe and the US seeking sizeable contracts.

The new 25,000sqft extension will give Novum a 100,000sqft workspace and will double production capacity.
Novum fridges use propane, which has a number of benefits compared with traditional commercial fridges.

He said Novum’s fridges used about 50pc of the energy of traditional fridges.

iKORE is a generation of intelligent ovens that will represent a before and after in the way of cooking. Two ranges that adapt to the needs of each chef. A professional and configurable oven that stands out for its precision in cooking results, thanks to its steam saturation system and effective climate management. The iKORE generation is self-contained and integrates a smart recipe system and additional kitchen process functions that are even remotely controlled.The new Kore Monoblock has been designed to offer all the benefits of Fagor Professional’s modular equipment combined in a single worktop that also provides great advantages. It offers the possibility of designing the configuration that best suits each chef, giving the option of using the modular machines of the Kore 900 range to design the ideal block that meets any need. In addition, the one-piece worktop design with no joints or grooves enables impeccable cleanliness.  

Likewise, Fagor Professional has presented a renewed commercial cold, a small sample of the direction in terms of product design that the brand is going to launch on the market in the coming months in its entire family of products.

Electrolux Professional has entered into an agreement to acquire Unified Brands Inc and related assets, a leading US-based manufacturer of foodservice equipment. The acquisition will significantly strengthen Electrolux Professional’s presence in the US and supports Electrolux Professional’s focus on growth with the food service chains.

Electrolux Professional will acquire Unified Brands for approximately SEK 2,140m (USD 244m), on a cash and debt free basis including certain tax benefits, subject to customary post-closing adjustments, from Dover Corporation, a US-based diversified global manufacturer and solutions provider.

“We are very excited to announce this transaction, which is in line with our strategy to grow our presence in the US market as well as our focus on food service chains. Unified Brands has a very attractive portfolio of products and brands. With its strong local market recognition, customer relations, presence in chains, and local manufacturing capabilities, this acquisition will significantly strengthen our position in the US. I am also pleased that the management team of Unified Brands has agreed to stay in their roles,” says Alberto Zanata, President and CEO of Electrolux Professional.

Unified Brands, founded in 1907, has approximately 600 employees and is based in Conyers, Georgia. Unified Brands is expected to generate approximately SEK 1,150m (USD 135m) in revenue in 2021. It operates two manufacturing and R&D facilities, one in Weidman, Michigan and one in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
